Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#794

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Hi Ladies,

I have been batteling sinus infection type stuff. It has made me misarable. I found a place in this area that offers water aerobics classes and deep water aqua jogging. You have to talk to each instructor seperately regarding the classes you want to take and if they are full or not. The pool is quite small but deep on one end. One lady was super nice. One lady was telling me how I wouldn't want to go into the Monday Eve. Class because the women in there are really "Over Weight" I told her, well, that is exactly why I want to go. Why do you think they are there? To lose weight. Anyway, she didn't show up tonight so I didn't join her class. I did go to the "over Weight" class and it was so fun and relaxing. The instructor was sweet and the people, yes they were over weight they were so awesome. I was, as always... the fatest one there. NO body cared except me. I told myself that I wouldn't be the largest person there forever. I am going to get my body healthy. Any way, glad I went and am looking forward to going again. I can feel it in my muscles that I worked out.

Rebecca: I love the Avenue. In California I spent so much money there. There is not one near here any where but when we go to CA over Christmas, I will do some shopping there.

Wyllenn: Congrats on your -2! That is awesome! So sorry to hear about your parents divorcing after 40 years. That makes me sad. Hang in there. I updated my exercise thread tonight. I am hoping to get my big bootie out of bed in the morning and go again but if not I will at least walk on the Tread mill.

Voodoo: Hang in there with your son. Maybe he has a chemical imbalance. Keep safe.

Teahoney: Congrats on your -5. Great job.

Elmay: Hope things work out for you with your family. Sometimes tough love is what is needed in certain situations.

Catherine: I am so thankful that I never "out grew" my chonies. I don't feel comfortable without underware. Except when I sleep I wear jammies and no panties. For a long time I wore a big sleep shirt and panties then we started letting people live with us and..... well. It didn't bother me cause I was sleeping but the folks who used to come into my room to wake me up sure got to see my big butt. As for the Wedding Night nightie. You have to have one even if it doesn't stay on very long. Treat yourself and your man.
You are getting down there in size pretty good now that Lane Bryant sells sexy stuff and so does Fasion Bug and if you have an Avenue.

Brenda: Congrats on your -1.5 stay healthy though. Don't get stressed out and over do it!

Tashabella: I sure hope that you feel better soon Take care of yourself.

Mary: I love this site. I have learned so much and that I am not the only one struggling with issues. Share with us and let us encourage you as you encourage us This is a very loving place.

Lori: Gosh girl. I sure hope you are getting better. Poor thing. Hang in there. Things are bound to start looking up soon.

Jillybean: I hope you have a great time with your new friends. You seem so sweet and open I'm sure they will love you. Getting used to living with my husband was very hard. He wasn't aweful or anything it was just down right hard and you have to compromise and share so much. I hope that you can work things out.

Well everyone, be blessed and stay safe.

Blessings,
Dogpal

Catherine--hehe, I must agree with Dogpal (as per usual!). Find a cute wedding night nightie! I've even been looking at them at Walmart--they have little red ones with white feathery trim for Christmas that go up to a 3x, I believe, and often they're shaped to not be clingy (they don't have to be clingy wen the material is almost al see-through sheer!), so they're actually cut semi-generously (Walmart's 3x shirts don't always fit me yet because so many have spandex/Lycra in them!). And for some reason, guys seem to like it, even if you only keep it on for a moment

dogpal--I wish it were just a matter of me and Jeff having to compromise in living together. We actually don't have any problems with co-habitating so far. I get frustrated with him for not putting away dishes or taking out the trash sometimes, but he's a guy, so that's to be expected I've actually just been thinking about whether or not I really think I could be happy with him forever. We've been together for over a year and a half, and we seem to be thinking differently along the lines of how many kids we want and where we want to live inthe future--not exactly minor issues. But, we're only 23 years old, so we've got some time to figure it all out I think maybe I just need to really think about what it is I want out of life and what is most important to me in a partner.

On the dieting front, I pigged out on well over 3000 calories yesterday. Today, I brought in all of my fudge (I made white chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge) and all of my bread (both strawberry and carmel/toffee/streusel bread) to work for our Christmas party, so I won't have the option/opportunity to pig out at home after work anymore!

Hello Ladies!

Here I am again! Wanted to sound off on the wedding nightie! Catherine you must get a sexy nightie! Don't spend too much - I did and I've worn mine a total of about 10 minutes in 6 years! But Jill is right, Wal-Mart 3x ought to fit and they are sexy. Or try on-line. Or make it yourself - it's not like it takes much fabric! Every woman should have a sexy nightie for her wedding night!

I saw some new ladies on the board. These are a great bunch of ladies. You'll like it here!

Rebecca: WOW! What an inspiring loss you've had so far! I checked out your blog and the "before and after" pictures are really something. Good work and keep it up!

Jilly: Domestic bliss is not easy to find. You seem to have a good handle on it though when you say you are both young. You have time and until you say I Do, you can change your mind. Take your time and be sure he's THE ONE. If you have doubts this is the time to decide that.

How about these Christmas goals! I'm not making mine either...but I figure any loss over the holidays is a GOOD thing. So making goal or not - I win!

Must run ladies! Onward and Downward!

I haven't been posting lately but I have still been reading all the other posts. Congrats to all the losers and welcome to all the new girls!!!! I haven't been doing well with diet and exercise the past couple days. I have a lot going on...I am waiting on a call for an interview to get into nursing school.....I am having a test done in the next couple weeks to see if there is any blockage in my tubes. I was on Clomid several months ago to try to help me get pregnant and we had no luck so now we are going to the next step. I don't do well with stress and worrying all the time...I am so use to running to food so it has been hard. Anyways I am doing well so far today and I am determined to lose my 5 pounds before Christmas. If you all could just keep me in your thoughts and prayers with my nursing school and my upcoming tests. Thanks for listening girls!!!

Red face Update/saying "hey!'

I'm still sick, but holding up fairly well. I'm eating Echinacea drops like they were candy and have started using Zicam, which is the only thing that is getting me to work every day (I swear this stuff is magic). Of course, I have no tolerance for the dieting, but I have stayed on track (even though I didn't want to ~ when I don't feel good, it's hard to put a lot of energy into it).

If so many of us on 3 fat chicks are sick, does that mean we've got the "chicken" flu? LOL. (I guess I shouldn't joke about that. LOL. )

Just wanted to say hi.

Momtofive ~ OMG! I had that happen several months ago. I have been diagnosed with vertigo. It sucks really bad. I feel it a lot now still, and sometimes when I'm driving. I hope yours goes away. Mine isn't! (My doctor told me to take something like Dramamine when it gets bad, but I should expect to always have it. I had the throwing up and everything!) THANK GOD it wasn't a heart attack!!! I'm so glad you're OK (well, as OK as you can be when the world is spinning ).

Andrea ~ Definitely will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hang in there everyone.

Default Hey.

I must have caught the 3fatchickflu too! My gland is swollen like a golf ball, or egg yolk, whatever you want to call it. We had our 1 day of dibilitating snow on the 7th and I haven't gotten anything done. I got an offer for a job in California today (with my current company) and I think that I am going to take it. Hello, Costa Mesa. I have heard that the farmer's markets are phenomenal.

Andrea, I am so sorry that you are having trouble having a baby and I wish you all the luck in to world.

Talk to you all soon!

Hi ladies. Good thoughts/get well wishes to all of you who aren't feeling well!

Today, I was supposed to have a biopsy and colposcopy done but had to reschedule. The good news, however, is that they do NOT think it's cancer. When they told me they thought it might be, I shut down mentally. I was prepared to start focusing totally on that, rather than the lifestyle change and exercise I've focused on so much this year.

I'm proud of myself for not sabotaging myself - I didn't binge on anything, I didn't have any emotional eating sprees, and I actually took some time just for myself and for hubby. A scare like that puts things into perspective very quickly.

I'm still not back to myself completely, but I'm getting there. I'm still taking some time to figure some things out, but I lurk and read, and if any of you need anything, please PM me!

Thanks girls for all the well wishes. I have been blessed to have one child but would love another one. My son will be 6 on Friday....I can't believe how fast they grow.

Rebecca--Congrats on the job offer in California....Sounds awesome!! What part of Texas do you live in? My best friend lives in El Paso...her husband is in the military and they moved out there about a year ago and she is wanting me to fly out there soon for a visit.

Brandnewme--Glad to know that they don't think it is cancerous. Try to stay positive and not let it get you down.

Get better soon Tashabella and Rebecca!!

Take care girls!!!!

Just a quick post- I'd been feeling bad last week then Aunt Flo decided to visit...and to add to the fun, the last round of blood test showed I've been anemic which would explain a lot strange things over the past couple months. I also still have high liver enymes, so since the gall bladder & liver ultra sound were okay, I have to have a Hida Scan this Friday to see if there is anything going on with my gall bladder that didn't show up. I'm so glad I switched to a new internternist who actually looks at test results & follows up on them...last one never seemed too concerned about anything...if his staff didn't lose the test results to begin with.

Surprisingly, I've been doing pretty good diet wise- it would be so easy to slip back into 'comfort foods' with everything that is going on but I've been making healthy choices. I have added more higher iron foods in addition to the prescription iron supplements for the anemia...I need to figure out some more options so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Smile Quick replies

Carole ~ Chickenpox! That's horrible! I wish you the best of luck with the itching!!! (I think we're less tolerant of things like that when we're adults than when we're kids.)

Brandnew ~ I'm so glad to hear that things sound so much better. I will give you a tip if you're willing to hear it (if it even applies to what you are having done). I had a biopsy done on my uterus and if that's what you're having, my advice to you is to breathe. You know how they tell women to breathe during labor? Do that (like lamaze). The procedure is very unpleasant, but it's over quickly and what got me through it was the breathing (it helps distract you and alleviates the discomfort). I wish you luck with your tests and hope you will get good news after good news and more.
