Default Frosty Friday Chat - December 9

The snowplough has gone by twice so I guess I'm semi-snowed in! It's 18ºF out there so the Girls will be making quick potty trips although they'll probably linger for a bit of a romp in the snow. (They were very quiet all day yesterday - either from chocolate poisoning or shame for having been bad.)

Candace comes to clean today and I must get more jobs for her to do. She is very quick - maybe too quick - and may need some training to get up to Gail's high standards.

This morning I need to stock up on wood and water to get through tomorrow with no electricity. I may ask Rob to look after that for me but coffee first, right?

Have you got snow on your sand this morning?

MUD Ruthie! I got MUD! It's Rainy and ccccooooold! A good day to simmer a pot of cinnamon spice and listen to christmas carols.

Ruth: Those 2 rascals! Im glad the babies didn't get sick..hopefully they learned a lesson!

Jenn": Hugs I hope mom responds to treatment...

Cottage: hmmm, time to have a sit down chat with that man of yers..I went through the same thing. It called for some compromise as I was definitely a workaholic..but Ken did come to understand that with the job I had I couldn't just punch out at a specific time.

HKO: I think yer a candidate fer that little blue pill to try to get a bit more sleep less you'll be runnin on fumes again !

Pearsy: yer off to CA TODAY! YAY 4 U!!!!!!

Well on Wednesday I went to my first Step class in like 10 years... I was the oldest Fattest cow there. .but I kept up no problem. I had this coupon to try the gym for 2 visits... The manager POUNCED on me to sign up.. Mr High pressure.. Starts off with this $699 for 2 years ... I tell him I was quoted 299 ..He says thats for renewal..so he comes down to 599, then 399. FAGEDDABOUIT! So I'm not too sure I'll be joining the gym. But I did enjoy the class and felt it in my abs yesterday. Yesterday was a complete bust, I've been fighting this cold and it really hit me yesterday, so I stayed in bed and slept all day knocked out with night quill. today I feel better...

Time fer Cawfee, and I think I'll do the Christmas cards!

Little blue pill? Like in The Matrix?

Not feeling too hot today. I don't know if it's yet another bug, or what. I'll have to run DH both to and from the station as it's chilly-chilly and he's well on his way to a fine case of laryngitis. I think in between train-station runs, DS and I will just kick back and take it easy today. DS has been really hyper the last couple days, probably from the alteration in his schedule (getting up way earlier to take Daddy to catch his train). No snow (we had some a while back, but it only lasted a day), but the grass is crunchy and white. It'll be a good day for sipping tea (me) or hot chocolate (DS) and watching movies or reading books. Maybe I'll get started on my Christmas cards while DS is napping, too. Not sure what's for dinner yet. It'd be a perfect day for slow-cooker cassoulet, but we had chicken last night and the night before - we like chicken, but I think 3 nights in a row is a bit much! I have a piece of salmon out in the deep freeze, but it's too small - DS adores salmon, and can eat a surprising amount for such a small person. Maybe we'll make a quick run to the store after we drop DH off and get some supplies for something warm that reheats well (for DH's lunch tomorrow). Chicken soup maybe? We'll just have to see how the muse moves me!

Good morning, Chickies~~

Just a quick fly by as I'm running late. (DD wanted my Christmas list, then loomed over my shoulder trying to find a website)

Ruth, your girls sound as bad as mine for eating stuff they shouldn't. Roxy's latest thing is eating wool. (She licks the end that's hanging off the spinning wheel). Dumb dog.

H-Ko and Schatzi, Hey there!

Not much going on here...The cold rain finished up sometime last night and has left us just plain cold. Brrr!!

So, I've got to go get my lunch packed (vegetable soup and a slice of lf Swiss cheese, if you must know! LOL!! )

Hope you all have a wonderful, WARM day on the Beach!

It's snowing!
It's been coming down heavily since about 3am, but it's starting to taper off now. We have around 5", and it's enough to qualify me for a SNOW DAY, so I get to enjoy a 3-day weekend!
I'm going to finish up my Christmas cards this morning and get them mailed out. I'm making my own this year with my stamping supplies, and they're turning out really nice. I amaze myself! DD is really big into stamping and makes some really fancy cards, so she's been encouraging me to try it. Jake is home today, too, so I'm bribing him to wrap gifts by making his favorite Pecan Tarts.
Keep warm!

Hey chicks! Yep, I'm off to CA today. I've been up since 4:30 packing, unpacking, repacking...arrgghh!! I just need to learn to leave well enough alone. I straightend my hair last night then washed it this morning and its curly again! What's wrong with me? Maybe since I'm done with school stuff I'm just trying to keep busy. It's freezing here. Poor dog got a quick walk just long enough to do her business then it was back in the house. Brrr!! None of the 6 inches of snow they said but instead freezing rain and sheets of ice all over the roads. Fun fun!!

Well, I'll check back in when I get to CA.....they do have the internet out there ! Have a great day chicks!

6 inches of snow on my sand.

I am feeling like a SB fraud. I keep posting in hope of inspiration. I did okay with it for a month and then got too busy to think or something. I never really did manage phase 1 but could do phase 2. I was feeling good too but not losing any weight. sigh I am not sure what will work for me to really get this weight/lifestyle thing.
My sore throat turned into a wicked tummy virus. By 10am I was hurling.
Between hurls I called parents to get their kids. DD went on a playdate and I spent the day hugging the toilet or sleeping. Today I woke up feeling fine.
Lots of snow over night but busses are running. Just 2 toddlers this morning. My Avon is supposed to be in.
I really need to clean the upstairs. It is depressing me.
DH ran the dishwasher and washed all the pots but 1. LOL! Wouldn’t want to do a complete job.
DS has hockey tonight and DD has her gymnastics recital. I have the market in the morning and then a Sam’s club run.
DS has more hockey on Sat and then my boys are going to a pro game Sunday night. My Christmas gift to them.
Gonna take it easy-ish today.

Hey girls!

I got up early this morning. (begrudgingly-- but I did. I was going to skip, but DH worked on me last night. I'm glad he did b/c I got it marked off my bingo!) I took a cycling class. I hated it, but I suffered through it.

DH insisted I make some chili for some hot tamales that he bought. So, I put some in the crockpot. I know the tamales are illegal, but I really want one. I don't know if I am going to cheat yet. It's the perfect weather for chili.

Our roads were ice in spots. It took forever to get anywhere. There were a lot of reports of black ice. Black ice scared me. I have slid on it once before and I don't care to do it again.

DH fixed dinner last night. He made the Taco Bake. I sat all the canned ingredients out and left the recipe out on the counter for him. When I got back from swimming class, I had a hot meal waiting for me. He did a good job. I think he left it a little too moist, but definitely hit the spot.

Well, I better get some work done! Sorry, didn't have time to read everyones yet this morning. I will pop in later!

It's hard to believe we broke a record high last Saturday with 89F and this morning we broke a record low with 15F! I think they said this was the second coldest day in the last ten years. The roads are mostly ice free and school is open today so I am back in the office. I didn't get to do my presentation at Cub Scout Roundtable last night since they cancelled it due to the ice. Oh, well, I have offered to do it next month.

This starts a busy weekend. I need to stop at Target and buy 5 birthday cards and a bunch of gift cards. Brian goes to a sleepover birthday party tonight and DH and I are going out to a rare dinner together. I think we are going to Texas Land and Cattle where I can eat healthy if I am careful. Then Brian has two more birthday parties this weekend and I think one next weekend.

I did get the Christmas newsletter created and the first ones printed out. It is heavy on pictures and light on news which is fine with me. Now if I can just get DH to update the address database, I can print out labels and sign and stuff cards. Brian helped last year and I plan to get him involved again this year.

Good mornin' ya'll

Ruth--glad your girls are ok
Schatzi--it's amazing what those gyms charge and then so eager to keep you they lower the rates over and over. you'd think they would just offer that rate and be done with it
H-Ko--we eat chicken a lot too, the last 3 nights and 2 lunches, I've about had my fill this week.
Pear--have a good trip
Dana--I wish DH would cook dinner sometime, he does a lot of things for me, but that would be wonderful!!!! you're doing great with different classes, I didn't much like the spinning classes either

Hi to Mamacita, cottage, hollyhock, angelshine, barb and anybody else I missed I'm sorry

This weekend will be a busy one for us as well. Tonight we're celebrating Christmas w/ in laws. BIL will be gone for Christmas, his wife is from NJ and they go there each year and with all of our schedules tonight was the only one that was free for everyone!!! Tomorrow is DH company Christmas party, and I wanted to wear this pretty green sweater (that I get a lot of compliments on) and dag gone it I can't find that thing anywhere. I turned the house upside down last night and this morning. I'm really bummed cause I love that sweater!!! So now I don't know what to wear, it's not a formal thing, so semi casual would work. I still don't have the tree up yet, we just haven't had the time, but my goal is to get it up by Sunday night.

Well, better get to work, that is what they pay me for, right? Ya'll have a great day!!!!

Hey Hildy,
we posted about the same time. 5 lbs is great!!!!!
I am a big social drinker myself, I do the whiskey and diet coke thing if I'm sipping or I'll do tequila slammers w/ diet mt dew. I haven't had a problem with either. As a matter of fact last weekend I had a bit too much of the whiskey/diet coke and only had a 1 lb flux but I chalk it up to the dinner at my company party.

take care

Cold here too! Snow is already melting -- but the slush and ice made for bad driving this morning!

My brother is coming down tonight for a visit and I couldn't be happier!
Happy Friday Girls!

Hi all, mid arvo here. Cold and foggy, but not too bad. Day off today, as Hubby offered to go to the shop and help Tina. Tina is the lady who works for me, and as she's 20 weeks pregnant I don't like her being in on her own. DD is still a bit grizzly, but generally better. Just wish the nappy rash would clear up. We have her in terries most of the time, and never had a problem with it as long as she's in them.

Well girls, you'd have been proud of me the last few days! Today was bad. Really bad. The house is packed with bread, chocolates and general junk thanks to DH. Lunchtime was a killer, cos my meal plan said Ceasar salad and the lettuce I got was all limp and manky. Plus it's cold, and the only gripe I have with SBD is that it's very salad-heavy. Great for Florida, not great for a freezing cold foggy S****horpe. I would usually just got a sandwich, no worries, but with bread out the window I was a bit stuck. Little voice in my head saying - 'go on, one sarnie won't do any harm, it's quick and easy!' Child was having buttery toast for a snack, and I really had to stamp on my own foot to avoid nibbling a piece.

So as tonght was meant to be fish, I whizzed up a can of toms, some stock and the fish with garlic with a touch of white wine to make a nice hot chowdery type thingy (Thank you Saint Delia) and tonight I'll have marinated chicken breast instead. Result - No guilt, no cheats and one very proud Loser!

Hope everyone is having a great day - I;m so jealous that most of you have snow - Ruth what's it like near you atm? DH is keen on the idea of living in Canada, but I wasn't so sure about the winters.
