Default Sacred Heart Diet

Has anyone tried this? I really want to do it. You can lose up to 10 pounds in the one week you do it. It’s for cleaning out your system, which I really need. I am not going to do this to lose weight fast, just for cleaning my system out.

Why do you think your system needs cleaned out. It takes care of itself just fine without anything special for the most part. I'm not slamming you, just curious at the premise behind this and what it actually is.

It's...very prominent thing among eating disordered people, so intuitivly I wouldn't vouch for it.

It's very restrictive, and might lead to binging later on, though of course everyone is different. I'm also curious as to whether there is a specific reason to clean out your system in such a way.

As a weight-loss thing, i think it fails long-term. For cleaning out, I suppose it wouldn't be bad, if really necessary. Just my impression though, I've never actually tried it or anything.

I've just read that its good to clean your body out sometimes especially before a diet. It's worth a try and I will feel better afterwards and will have more engery.

I don't know anything about the "Sacred Heart" diet but I DO know about cleansing and clean eating!

It just makes sense that eating a more natural and clean diet would lead to a more natural and cleanly working system...just like calories in=calories out...quality in=quality throughout!

Yes, but clean eating...meaning for the most part eating clean by eating less or no processed foods and sticking with things like oatmeal, fruits, veggies, and lean meats is a whole different thing than the premise of purging your body and cleaning it out over a week's time.

If they are promising to clean you out and lose maybe 10 pounds over a week-then you are probably just going on a strict diet of very low calories, and the things that you are allowed probably together cause a bit of a laxative effect.

Your body has no need of "cleaning out" in this manner. I wouldn't do it. If you drink plenty of water, eat healthy and avoid the junk, don't smoke or drink heavily, and exercise (Simple drinking water and sweating cleans your body and rids it of stuff too...) then your body can function just fine on it's own. Our bodies are magnificent things...and our bodies naturally clean themselves out when need be-think about it: our bodies know to vomit when we eat something bad or drink too heavily...our bodies pass out waste on their own every day in the bathrooms...we release toxins and endorphins when we exercise...it does it all on it's own without a strict strange detox diet.
