Default Long time no see, chicks!

Hey all. I've been busy up at school, but thought I would report back a bit. Basically, I've eaten like crap since I've been here (it's hard to keep it under control when a big part of your social life revolves around food!), but I've managed to lose another 6 pounds since August because of walking to class and work every day, as well as the fact that sticking to South Beach while still at home decreased my appetite a bit. Good news I guess, 21 pounds until I reach my ultimate goal (15 down!).

Oh, I forgot to mention...I thought that I had failed miserably only losing 9-10 pounds the entire time away from school, but a couple people who I didn't see all summer have asked if I lost weight, and told me how great I look...definately good for the motivation!

Good going, CA85!

Hey, have you tried Edamame? If you get the frozen pods, just boil them in salted water for a couple minutes, then put them in a bowl and salt them. Put out a clean bowl and you and your friends can have a great time opening the pods, eating the soybeans and putting the shells in the bowl (don't eat the shells, they'll make you feel pretty yucky!). They are soooo good! This is really common in Japan, I guess...it's their version of peanuts and popcorn. They like to eat it when they're watching baseball games!

I hope you can find some great healthy ways to make your social life less about food or make the food healthier. In the meantime, it sounds like you're making some great changes and people are noticing.

We like edamame here - especially DH. We're big fans of Asian food in general and Japanese in particular.
