ummm, well, lets see. i don't have any recipes off the top of my head, but you can check out allrecipes.com. they will probably have a bunch... and you can search by ingredient name, i believe.

oh, a trick i learned a while back from another board. when you get the firm tofu home, drain it, and press it dry with a paper towel. then wrap it up real well and put it in the freezer. when you are ready to use it, defrost it in the fridge and do what the recipe says. supposedly, this gives it a more meat like texture. not sure, as i haven't done it yet myself, but worth a try!

good luck! hopefully someone else will post some recipes - i'd be interested in seeing them too!!!

kindly,
susan

Pennykate, welcome!

Allrecipes is a good idea.
You can also do a search here on the forum. I know there are a probably a bunch hiding somewhere in this massive forum.

Go to the top blue bar where it says, "Search", and click. Click on "Advanced Search", and type in your request.

hey great post pennykate, I just bought my first package of "Firm Tofu" honestly I am terrified of this stuff, just looking at it scares me. But I am determine to try it, so yes I will be looking for recipes too. I am going to go do that right now with my Tofu, drain and put in freezer, thanks Shaley. Let me know how you make out there pennykate and I will do the same.
