Default Phase I Start - November 28

Chicks starting and re-starting Phase I, this thread is for you.

Share your problems, ask for menu suggestions, post questions but PLEASE be sure to read all the info in the stickies and in the FAQ. There's lots of good information there which may answer your questions quickly.

Remember this is NOT a low carb plan but a slow carb plan. Eat those legumes and good veggies! Iceberg lettuce is NOT a good veggie!

Default Continuing Phase 1!

Hello ladies-

Thank you all for being such an inspiration!

I started Phase 1 two weeks ago and lost eight pounds! I cheated over Thanksgiving and gained back two, but am starting again today for one more week of Phase 1, just to level off. I'm going on a cruise with my husband in two weeks and want to be able to fit into my summer clothes from LAST year (before i gained 15 pounds studying for the bar exam...i passed the exam, but gained weight, a bittersweet process)

Question: How many of the cheesecake cupcakes are in a serving? How many are recommended a day? I ate them for breakfast AND dinner yesterday, and I'm worrying it's too much. They are SO good. And I'm sick of eggs.

Good luck ladies!
Michele

I'm back on P1 also. I WANT POPCORN. Terrible, it's not even noon yet! I was being pretty good, with just a few bad choices here and there. Daily snack size bags of popcorn being one of them!
C'mon gals, the sand is just fine!

I just started Phase one on Friday (11/25).....it's going great so far. But my only problem is recipes without fish (I don't care for fish) and a variety of foods I can have & make on a college kid's income.

I started phase 1 on Thursday, so far so good, I'm doing a motiified version.. but I've been dropping nicely I had origionally only planned to do this for a week, but I might stick it out for two weeks.... I am attempting to lose the weight I gained when the bf was sick this year. 4 down, 4 to go!

We can all do this A Cruise? Omg, I am very jealous BTW

Default Hi!

Hello!

How did everyone's Monday go? I am trying to figure out what to have for dinner....green beans and almonds sounds good...I LOVE Green Giant green beans. And I'm having major sweet cravings, probably from eating cranberries over Thanksgiving...can't wait for my ricotta cheesecake!

Amy- how are you modifying Phase 1? I'm curious....

I am motifying it in a bad way... heh. Let's just say I'm eating 100% on the south beach plan.. now what I'm drinking, not so much. I've been dropping about 1/2 a pound a day, and origionally planned to ease into everything, but this combo seems to be working well for my body. I guess saying I'm doing SB is a lie...

Hi! I just started SB 11/28 also. I really didn't think I'd make it through the first day. I love my tea with sugar and half & half, and that has been one of the things keeping me from trying the plan. I guess I am modifying the plan as well, because I am keeping my tea, but having a LOT less sugar. I am easing into this. Also, my local grocery store doesn't carry low fat cheese, so I'm havng a bit of what we have on hand until I can get to a bigger store (and afford it). I accidentally had some carrot bits in my salad yesterday, too. There's going to be a learning curve here until I get more comfortable with the allowed foods lists.
I'd like to lose at least 20 pounds, so I think this is doable, and I love that the plan makes healthy sense to me, especially in later phases.

It's nice to have all this support at my fingertips.

Hi everyone, I started SB again Phase One on 11/28. So far so good, down 2.5 lbs, which I'm sure is mostly water (but still motivating). I saw the recipe for Mock French Toast and am going to try that this morning. GiggleQuack, I'm with you on the half and half (in coffee) and have decided that is the one thing I really enjoy. I have determined that I'm not willing to give that up, but doing everything else on Phase 1.

I use 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee too. As long as I'm good with everything else and stick to 2C a day it works for me.

Pearshape, that has to be 2 cups of coffee, not 2 cups of half and half, right?

Good morning everyone! Today's my first day on phase one of the south beach. I'm really excited and really motivated! I have a friend that is doing this with me. She is also starting today. I'll let her know about this site, and maybe she will join up! Nice meeting you all by the way. I hope we can all motivate each other and work together on this one! Talk to you all soon.
