Hi everyone! I am so far behind that I would never be able to catch up. I have read, but the time needed to read vs. read AND reply is significant. I won't get to individual replies today either, I'm afraid. Honey is home on vacation and we're trying to scoot around here and get the house cleaned up for tomorrow.

Life has been in an uproar for the past 6 weeks and I'm ready to get off this merry-go-round.

The 'Baby's" house had a gas leak. I think I told you about that. The gas company turned him off at the meter. My friend went over there and capped the offensive pipe so that at least he could have heat and get his carpet laid. They came last Friday to do the carpeting, of course I had to babysit the house. I had to babysit the house for the gas company. I had to babysit the house for the duct cleaners. I think you get the idea. I've been doing alot of house sitting.

#1 Son's house is coming right along. He also got his carpeting laid on Friday. He's been working on his own finishing up what was left to be done because, of course, Honey and I have been at the "Baby's" house working. All he has left to do is another coat of paint on his bathroom and then clean the tiles and tub. His cable will be installed next Wednesday so then he'll be ready to move in.

Poor Honey, he has so much vacation time to take that there is almost no time left to take it. He put everything on hold while he was playing Interim Director. Then when the other guy was named he put stuff on hold because he needed to help the new guy transition. Now he's gotten his promotion and he put stuff on hold again to try and get up to speed in this job. Now he's got two weeks to take before the end of the year. They won't carry over any days and they won't pay them out. So he's taking Thursdays and Fridays for the rest of the year. Then the middle week of December he'll only be working Monday. Guess I'll have him around alot, eh???

I've been trying to work through all this. It's been hard doing jobs AND doing everything else, but the bills have to be paid. Argh!!!

Well, girls, that's about all I can muster for now. Must get the dining room table cleaned off or there won't be anyplace to sit and eat. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. I'll see you on Friday. Love ya bunches!

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Remember to enjoy your holiday, don't stress over food but be aware of all that goes in your mouth! And if you are like me maybe beware of what might come out of your mouth too! LOL Sometimes I just stick my foot in my mouth, know what I mean?

Anyway....I'll catch up with you all on Friday...I have a 4 day weekend!! Gotta go make some pies now!

Have a great day! MichelleK

Hi ladies,

Thought I better get in here and drop a post before its too late. I'm in the midst of making pies. I am going to try a sugar-free pecan pie. I'll let you know how it turns out. One pie in the oven, three to go.

I wanted to wish everyone a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

On with the baking!

Lilion - SUBWAY is medieval but turkey legs aren't?!? Who'd o' thunk it???

Thin - Enjoy all that vacation time with your honey! I hope the boys houses are finished soon so you can take a vacation yourself.

Barbara - So glad you're feeling better!!! It would be SO sad to feel lousy on such a holiday! ... How's the weather down there? We're having a blizzard here in Ohio today, but a friend of mine is down in Texas somewhere and keeps calling home to tell us it's 80-85 degrees where SHE is... spiteful woman!

Terri - Sugar Free Pecan Pie??? Isn't that an oxymoron?
2CUTE !!! WAY TO GO!!! Hang tough tomorrow to keep it from sneaking back on! TWO more pounds down! Most EXcellent!

No, Subway isn't medieval...but it's better for us!

I was surprized to see the forum up. Hope everyone had a yummy and safe turkey day. We had turkey and all the trimmings and my in-laws came. I was really glad, because I never get to cook for other people besides DS and DH and I've always wanted to host Thanksgiving. I tried to make it as OP as possible, but there's really no substitute for brown sugar and butter on sweet potatoes. I made sugar-free, low-fat chocolate pie for dessert. Seemed a bit odd instead of pecan pie...but so much better for us! I only had one plate...filled to overflowing, but still only one.

I LOVE turkey! Turkey sandwiches, Turkey cassarole, Turkey and noodles, Turkey pot pie. I'm currently boiling the carcass...Yep, I use pretty much every little bit o' the bird! Mmmmm, Turkey soup. Good think turkey is good for me!

Must get plenty of sleep tonight as tomorrow is Black Friday and I'll be meeting up with my friend at 4 a.m. to hit Wally World at 5! (Say a little prayer for me!)

Later ladies....Hope your day was wonderful!

Lilion, I admire your courage - you couldn't possibly pay me enough to go near a store today! I always hide the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone was able to eat pretty reasonably, if not totally OP, whether you were celebrating or just having another run-of-the-mill Thursday.

Groan.... 3 hours til Curves. Better get a nap.

Smile Burp!

Excuse me! Ok, I totally pigged out yesterday at lunch. (We had our Thanksgiving dinner at 12.) But last night I ate very light, like that helped! I feel a little bit like that old bird this morning, stuffed! One of my kids and family are still here, so today will be leftover whatever. UGHHH! I don't feel like I can face another day of Turkey and trimmings, but that is a good thing No? Anyway we had a very nice time.

I can't stay right now, but I will be back later to do some replies. Iwillbe....Ruth

No shopping for me today. Today is my Christmas decorating day.

Our Thanksgiving went really well. My sister and her family and my brother and his came here. Sister did the turkey and dressing, oleAlvin did the rest. (he's been watching Food Network!!!) anyway things went well. We planned a wedding shower for nephew and made our plans for our first Christmas without Mom.

Well it's time to start dragging in boxes and getting busy. I will turn on QVC so I don't feel like I'm missing out. I'll probally be checking in later during rest periods!

Hi ladies,

Good to see us up and running again. Yay for Suzanne!

We had a good day too. Very mellow. Our Thanksgivings are always mellow because its usually just us four kids, spouses, mom and some of the grandkids. Its Christmas where sis has all her stepkids and their kids join us and it gets to be very loud and very busy. It will be at least 25 of us for Christmas on the 17th. But this was good because there were only 13 yesterday. Mom got pushed out of the kitchen to rest as she is having some health issues. After lunch, some of us went out to rebuilt the horse fence and some stayed in to clean the kitchen. Guess where I went?? Yep, I went to learn how to build horse fence. The food was all good and only had one serving of the foods I wanted and was still way full. Sis and I talked about how its not fun when you can't go back for seconds. The pies were all a hit. Even the sugar-free pecan pie. I'll post the recipe on the recipe thread. Everyone liked it and everyone knew it was sugar-free. They said its better than the original recipe because the original is so overwhelmingly sweet that one small piece about makes you sick. So I will be keeping the recipe and making it from now on.

Glad to see that everyone had a good holiday with no family drama. We only had a little bit as one of my brothers has three kids that he has been raising on his own for about seven years. They are behaviorial issue kids mainly because their mother has mental issues (i.e. she is a crazy *****). The 18 yo girl has had a big fight with her dad had moved in with her mother and now her boyfriend and his brother. She was there and being mouthy about all the things she is going to do better now that she has her own place and boyfriend to take care of and her dad heard her. After he told her a thing or two, she said something bad about him to which I replied, I'll knock you on your butt the next time I hear you disrespect your father that way and she better remember who didn't leave her behind and who has worked hard for them to have what they have. Then told her she better never call her grandmother and complain about her dad again because that was the kind of nasty crap that her mother did. She can learn to behave like one of us or act like her stupid mother, its her choice.

No shopping for me today. I don't like the crowds plus there really isn't that much that I need to be buying. I'm being lazy right now. I'm going to relax here for a bit and read more of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

My goal for the day is to finish cleaning the garage so DH can get his truck inside. Then work on the rec room which is a disaster. It is my tack room, laundry room and office so it doesn't get used much anymore.

Looks like tomorrow is the day to go spend at the horses. Maybe 60 degrees before it rains. I think I'll take a saddle out and ride Ginger around the pasture.

Today I'm back to my exercise plan and get food back on track. We didn't bring home much in the way of leftovers and we had most of that last night. What's left will go down the garbage disposal today. Lots of water too. I got my CD to re-install BalanceLog so I'll get that started today.

Time to catch up with Harry! I'll check in later. Happy Black Friday and put the food down the disposal!

Edit: I posted the recipe. Someone mentioned about a healthy pumpkin pie either on this thread or the other. One the first page of the recipe thread, there is a Crustless Pumpkin Pie recipe that is good. I've made it for DH and he liked it. There are a lot of good recipes on the thread that I need to go check out again.

P.S. Try to edit your post and see how editing has changed. Cool!

Good morning Chicks! Or is that Hens?

We had a great Thanksgiving...my son had so much fun playing with the kids at my sister's he didn't want to leave! Usually he is bored over there and can't wait to go home! Of course I ate a heaping plate, but I tried a spoon of everything I wanted and I did bring my own gravy but my downfall was the cheesecake my dad made with pecans on the top and bottom! Oh can you say HEAVEN? But I only ate a healthbar and a cup of coffee for breakfast that day so I shouldn't be too bad off...I will do as planned and eat lightly for the next few days to compensate!

Well, I wasn't going to go shopping today..but...I had to go to Walmart because they had the cabbage patch infants for $10 which I didn't get, and the Leap Pad with writing for $25 reg. $49.99. Andrew had the regular leap pad my mom got him a couple of years ago for Christmas and he loves it and has a million books and cartridges for it..only thing is the dog chewed the pen wire so its not attached anymore and won't work. SO I figured I better replace the darn thing and for $25 I couldn't pass it up! I didn't get there till 7 am so it wasn't too bad then. I did get a couple of gifts for the giving trees we took tags for and a pretty pair of gold heart earrings for our daycare mom. I'll give her a weeks salary with the earrings and she should be happy! Of course Andrew wanted to go with me, and grandma and grandpap gave him $25 in a card for Thanksgiving so he bought a couple of toys while we were there.

And did I just babble or what? Ok I gotta run and clean this house, finish laundry and get the winter stuff unpacked and washed and pack the summer stuff so we can get our decorations out. My aunt and uncle are coming in from Florida today so I'm sure they will come by so they can see our house too and meet my son! I have alot of work ahead of me! I want to start wrapping present this weekend too!

Talk at you all later! Hope you all have a great day! MichelleK

Ladies, I should have left for NY an hour ago, so I'll be short. Glad to hear folks had such nice holidays and sounds like some of you are just beginning the seasonal partying and shopping. Whoopie!

Off for a couple days to visit dad - talk to you when I get back. Monday is my WI day - did good T-day, and will have to hang on for 3 more to make it a GOOD WI. Hopefully will even walk up the hill (he lives out in the sticks.)

Best wishes! -Valerie

Talking I can't believe I ate the whole thing!

Good Evening Ladies!

How many times can a woman eat a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings? Thus far, 4 - and counting. You know, I truely love Thanksgiving food, but this is getting a bit much. I truely think I may explode and not gaining, much less losing those three pounds by Chirstmas is looking grim. Okay...slapping myself here...we'll try, try again tomorrow.

It was an unusual day. Got up at 3 a.m., met up with my friend and her daughter at 3:30 for coffee and strategy. Was at Wal-Mart at 4:20. Stood in line forever, got all my shopping done. My friend was not so lucky. They had lap-top computers advertised for under $400. She stood in line, with about 300 other people, for 45 minutes, only to be told that they only had 36 in stock! What, they couldn't tell people that, instead of leaving them in the line for 45 minutes! She literally cried, it was the main gift for her daughter this year. It all worked out and we ordered her one from Dell that has a printer for a total of $473 but still, the lousy store. Anyway, my friend stood in the lay-away line while I went to K-Mart next. I was there by 5:25 and stood in line in the cold to get in there at 6 because they had a nice portable DVD player I wanted for my son. I got done there and back to Wal-Mart by 6:30 and my friend was STILL in the lay-away line! So I put my stuff on too. I may have been mad, but I still couldn't pass up the Kodak Easy Share Camera, with the dock thing, for $199. The camera alone is usually $300 so it was too good to pass up and soon I'll be able to post really good photos instead of those blurry things I post now!

DH took my friends daughter to other stores, Goodys, Shoe Carnival and Sears, while we were at Wal-Mart. We went out to breakfast and ended up going BACK to Wal-Mart! We finally got home after noon! About 3:30 I passed out on the couch! I got up at 5 and had that 4th Thanksgiving dinner! I could really use my bed right now......but I have puppies that must run and play a while longer, so it'll be later. I shall survive.

I'm glad everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I'll check back in tomorrow. Right now, I have to check out that sugar free pecan pie recipe! Yummy...I may have a new Christmas pie!

Later Ladies!

I get so fustrated that it takes me so much longer to do thans than it used to. It took all day just to get the tree up in the living room and the Fenton Christmas stuff out. But the tree does look good. About two years ago I bought my mom a "prepackaged" tree and all the decorations from the Fingerhut catalog and so when we were gettting ready for the estate sale, I took the tree and all the decorations. It is a prelit tree and the decorations were white and gold. angels, churibs, doves, that kind of stuff. Well I had some burgandy balls and bows that I had used a few years ago, so I added that to the white and gold and it turned out really nice. I had planned to put a tree up in the den too and use my snowmen on it, but as tired as I am tonight, I'm not sure I'm up for it. we'll see tomorrow.

Lillion, when they showed pictures of the shopping mall parking lots at 6:00 this morning, I thought, I can't imagine people really doing that, but you did it!! WOW. that's dedication.
