Question Thinking of trying SBD P1 to break plateau...thoughts?

Hi there, I have been calorie counting for a couple months and have hit a nasty stall. I am thinking that maybe if I change my "diet plan" for a couple weeks, like trying SBD phase 1, it will get me moving in the right direction again. What are your thoughts on this? Since you are on this plan I thought I would ask you all. Thanks in advance, I look forward to reading what you have to say...as I want to change something on Monday if the scale doesnt change by Monday morning weigh in.....thanks again!!!

SBD Phase I is more of a detox than anything. Most of the dramatic weight loss people see during that phase is actually water loss, not fat loss. I'd recommend it on that basis alone, but I don't know if it will produce the desired results. You aren't currently on the SBD, nor are you considering switching to it, is that correct?

Gonna, unless you are planning on using Phase 1 to detox and then go to a Phase 2-like plan where you keep eating only good carbs and stay away from sugar, you are unlikely to see any results from doing Phase 1.

Are you making sure that you are staying above 1200 calories? If you are and are still plateauing, remember that some plateauing is a natural part of weightloss, as frustrating as it can be. Here are some ways to break a plateau, regardless of your plan:
  • Change when you eat.
  • Change the order of or the types of things you eat (i.e. eat your starch at dinner instead of breakfast, eat your salad at lunch instead of dinner, etc.)
  • Exercise more
  • Change the type of exercise you do, the intensity, or do interval training
  • Drink more water (get at least 64 oz of water each day)
  • Measure your inches along with your weight...if you have access to someone well trained, get your fat percentage measured regularly by a trained professional with calipers.
  • Eat in a restricted way (not under 1200 cals a day, though) or binge a little...not the best method, but for some reason it can work at times.

Be patient. My longest plateau was over 8 weeks, but it did end and I did start losing again.

Thanks for the replies. No I hadnt planned on switching long term to the SBD. I will just try to increase my activity level, and keep counting away.... I already drink between 64-90 oz of water per day so that isnt the problem. Thanks ladies I appreciate your advice. I will get somewhere eventually I guess...lol
