Default New in Canada

Hi there. My name is Shawna. I live in Canada. I have 2 girls. I've been on this weight loss journey since my first day of attending my first TOPS meeting. The date was September 24, 2003. I weighed 247.5 pounds and I'm down to 220. It's been weird. I was down to 209 but gained some back. I had weigh in tonight, and was down 3 pounds...woohoo.

Anyway, I'm not new to forum boards, but I'm new to this one so bare with me as I check things out..get comfy.

And I am interested in what this whole buddy system is all about.

Default Hi Shawna!

I'm not new to 3FC but I've been MIA pretty much for the last year. I am here to try to get back on track. I had lost down from 232 to 189 and somehow over the last year, I let myself get back up to 220. Very depressing. I know that a huge part of my success before was the support system I found here. If you havent yet found a group to join, you are welcome to join me and my new weightloss buddy, Emjay, in our thread. It's in the Buddy Up section under the heading "I need accountability to get Back on Track". Check it out and feel free to post if you'd like to join us! Hope to see you there!

Hi--I'd love to join this group. I am having a hard time lately keeping my weight stable, it has been creeping up a bit and I'm not pleased.

Starting to work with a personal trainer tomorrow (used my 40th b-day gift money to buy myself 6 sessions). I have been a regular exerciser for about 4 years, but I need to shake things up with my weight routine--it is truly in a rut.

What are your strategies for surviving Thanksgiving?

The trainer session was awesome! I tried out some new machines--was thrilled that I can bench press 45 lbs. and leg press 150! Wow, I am much stronger than I used to be.

Lynda, great job trying out the beans. You will also get a lot of iron from then, especially if you have a Vitamin C source at the same time (citrus, red peppers, etc.)

Peace and good health to everyone.
