Smile Rejoining WW after making a BIG mistake!

Hi everyone! I joined LA Weight Loss a little over a week ago, and regret it terribly. I called today and "cancelled". I couldn't really cancell, they put me on inactive. I know that this plan has helped people lose weight, but I don't think it's for me. I know that it was a lot of $$, but I really miss WW. I joined last year, and had lost 40 pounds! I believed that I could do it myself and save money...yeah right . I really want to succeed at this and would like be involved in a support group. Anyone is welcome, so c'mon!

Welcome back Tiffany. I've read some stuff on the LAWL threads and it doesn'ts eem like a program I would want to try. I love WW and even though I've also tried it on my own and did pretty well going to meetings is what is doing for me this time. I hope you didn't lose too mcuh money on LAWL. You'll find alot of great support here!

Thanks Misty.

You have to pay for how many pounds you want to lose. Then there is a 6 week stabilazation period and a 52 week maintenace period and they do charge for that. I started out paying for 20 lbs. They will guarantee a 2 lb a week loss IF you buy their Lite bars (way expensive). Anyways, for the 10 weeks, 6 week stab, and 52 week main it came to, are you ready... $643 and some change. That is not counting the bars, I did not buy those bc of the money, and they did not like it at all.

I know that some people can and have lost on this plan, but We don't have that kind of $$.

Oh Tiffany...girl...that is a lot of money to lose...I too did LAWL and it is a good program for some. It was a bit too restrictive for me. I lost about 500.00 b/c I didn't stick with it. Welcome here...as you know WW works...and I too have to have the support. Good luck to you..I wish there was some way to incorporate the 2 LAWL and WW so you wouldn't lose so much money-you could still go WI in the 3 times a week...not sure if you center made you use the bars or not..mine did and when I quit buying the bars they basically said I could not come back. SO I guess they kicked me out..not sure if they can do that but they did. Hope it all works out for you!!

Thanks Marcie.

They did tell me if I did not buy the bars, they would not guarantee 2 lbs per week. My husband is so wonderful. He did not get upset w/ me, he was mad @ LAWL bc they don't tell you everything before you sign on the dotted line.

Anyways, WW really does work for me. I am just sorry that I left in the first place. I probably would be at my goal now. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. LOL!

Tifaany I am so sorry to hear that it cost soo much. It's great your DH is so supportive!

Yeah LAWL sounds to me like a scam. I've never done it so I can't say for sure, but good Lord $600? It sounds great at first. But in reading on the other threads the coucelors yell at you for not eating the right stuff and don't know how to calculate stuff that's not bought at thier center. People "cheat" thier journals to make it fit the plan so the coucelors don't get confused or scold them. I liek to eat what's in teh grocery store and what my family eats and I don't want someone judging me for not buying thier products or something. It doesn't seem to me a program that one can live with...forever.

But you live and learn right? Probably if you added up all the money I've spent on books and tapes and random "diet foods" it's add up quick.

Please feel free to join us in the Slimmin' Sistas. I'd be lost without my girls! You will find great support there as well as all over these boards!

I appreciate it Wendy. I told them that I wasn't able to eat with my family or have many choices when we went out to eat. She basically said that I wasn't commited to losing my weight anymore. I said "I am commited. Just not on your plan!" I am not going to miss out on living or spending time with my family for that plan.
