Talking MOMS WEIGH IN week of 11/07

Happy Monday Ladies

Hi everybody! I am not having a good day so far only because my weigh in did not go as planned. This morning I weighed in and there was no change from my 190lbs. I know the beginning of the week went badly for me, but I worked the rest of the week to make my activity and eating well really count. So today was a surprise, not only because I worked hard for the rest of the week but yesterday I did an early weigh in and was 188lbs. I am wondering if there was a lot of salt in the food I ate yesterday and that is making the difference. Needless to say I am really disappointed in myself. The fact that I am disappointed though is a good thing. If this had happened to me before I would have said "no bid deal I will start fresh tomorrow" but the first change is that I am starting fresh from this very moment I need to look back and realize that I have been working hard and my progress to date has been really good. I guess this week, I need to kick it up a notch and work extra hard. I was really looking forward to reaching my first mini goal this morning, so that is what I think is the hardest thing for me at the moment. I made a promise to myself that I would lose that 1lb and get out of the 90's.....

Well I wanted to check in and I look forward to hearing about everybody's progress. My daughter is waiting for me to do her hair for school, so I shall talk to you all very soon.

I gained 2.5 pounds this week.

I totally fell off the wagon. But, this morning I am prepared to jump right back on. And to hold on tight

Have a good week everyone!

Okay, well at least we are all in the same boat. I saw no change this week. I cheated a bit at the beginning of the week but then got right back into the swing of things so I was also surprised.

The important thing is that we all keep going! I tend to get frustrated when I feel like I am trying and not losing but this time I am not going to give up!

Lets get 2 lbs off this week!

It looks like we are all fighting the same deamons this week; but I love your commitment to this. For me it has been the continuing temptation of halloween candy in the house. But as you so perfectly put it Barb, I am back on the wagon and holding on tight. I also picked up your idea of doing a monthly goal ticker and have set my sites high for losing 5lbs this month. This is a long month, so even though the first week is finished I still have another 4 to do this and stay within a healthy weight loss. COME ON GIRLS LET DO THIS!!!!!!!!

Did anybody watch Oprah today? Kristi Alley was on it talking about her 55lb weight loss and viewers were on giving their tips. One woman does what she calls the 15 minute rule. Every time she get a craving she simply drinks a glass of water instead and waits 15 minutes. By the time the minutes are up, the craving is gone. How smart and simple is that? It is certainly going to be a part of my weight loss plan.

None of us can give up. This is simply a test to our commitment. Realisticly this will not be the first time we will stay the same of gain during our weight loss journey, so we need to use this week as a lesson to ourselves. I know we all want this really badly and next summer we will all be showing off in our new bathing suits or should I say bikinis?

btw, has anybody taken before pictures of themselves. I wish I had done that at the very beginning. I was thinking of taking one tomorrow and keeping it in my food journal to look at and remind myself several times a day why I am doing this.

I have a scrapbook that I started in June 2003. When I initially started my weight loss journey I weighed 283 pounds. I lost 50 pounds in about 6 months, and I have the pictures to prove it. But once I started putting the weight back on I stopped taking the pictures and scrapbooking the journey. I really need to start it up again because I've had people tell me how inspirational it is to them.

I'm here...been lurking for the past few days. Don't give up! we all are going to have bad days, but dont let go of the progress you have made! I have had a pretty good week despite going out to Outback Saturday and Applebee's on Sunday, I did very well. I have lost some this week..I'll give my offical weigh in tomorrow. I started doing my new Firm last Wednesday so I changed my weigh in day. I like the idea of a mini goal I think it's a great motivator. I have faith in you ladies that ya'll are doing better this week. Good luck!!

Ok ladies how are all of you doing today??? Great I hope! Today was my weigh in / measure day. I lost 2 pounds this past week, 1/2" off my hips, 1/2" off my arms and my favorite 1 1/2 " off my waist!!! I am doing weights, so I am turning fat into muscle. I am so excited, this has been my biggest change since having my baby. I hope that ya'll have stepped back into your routines and are on target again.

Default Reporting to Weigh In

Hi Gals,
My weigh in day was yesterday ( Tuesday) I had a lose of 1.2. My goal is to lose a 1 lbs a week. So far my total is 5.8 lbs lost. I know how hard it is when you don't see a lose or you think you did good and get that surprise at the scale. But don't let it get you!!!! I have been doing WW with a friend and I think that really makes a difference. We set little bets each week. Which keeps us motivated. I just ordered Walk Away the Pounds DVD. To help me get in my exercise. I can't wait to get it. So I just want everyone to keep their heads up this week and show that scale whos BOSS next week!!!!

I have set a mini goal of losing 10lbs by X-mas in addition to my 5lbs

one for each lbs lost!!!!!

You ladies did amazing this week

Maycesmom, a goal of 1lb a week is great and a very healthy target. Congrats on the 1.2lb loss Another 10lbs by Christmas is a very realistic goal...now you need a ticker for it Right now I am focusing on my November goal of losing 5 lbs and of course we all know the first week was a write off. It really helps to have a partner to work with you and make bets with. Losing weight actually becomes a fun thing instread of a grueling process. That is why I love this board because nobody close to me is trying to lose weight right now and I felt alone in this before I found all you girls. Now I just want to post a loss here every week and look forward to my weigh in.

Holy NavyWife those are some great results you are getting. Your hard work is certainly paying off for you. Considering you went out twice for dinner, you obviously made some smart choices with your food.

I have definitely got back into my routine with regards to my weight loss. I need to just forget about last week and use it as a motivator to do better this week. I have been drinking tons of water (this is something I have problems with doing) and eating super healthy. I suspect I will see a loss on Monday, and if not then I don't know what I am doing wrong. Though I do some physical activity during the day, I need more.

Well my son is going for the plant so I must get going....he just learned to crawl and it's a whole new ballgame.

Good job, ladies!!! Just hearing about your loss keeps me motivated.

I want to loose 6 lbs by the end of November. I think I can do it. I am back on track this week and hopefully will see a loss this week.

About those tickers.....Do they show up on other boards and emails you send?

I want to use one here but don't want it showing up everywhere....like if I send emails to clients or post on other boards.

Andrea...Now you can get some exercise chasing around your little crawler! Life will never be the same!

Hi Cat, I just sent you a PM regarding the tickers. But in short, the ticker will only appear here

6lbs is a great goal for November; it's a longer month so it gives us that extra week to lose some pounds Are you sticking to the water intake this week? I am and now I remember why I don't like it......I am running to the washroom every 10 minutes

Can wait to see your new ticker!!!!

Maceysmom - I do the Walk Away the Pounds video. I like it alot because it breaks it down into segments by mile. So, if I feel lazy I convince myself just to do the first mile then once I get going I usually do more.

It does get a bit boring for me so I use my kids portable dvd player and set it on top of the t.v. with the sound down and watch something else while keeping my eye on the video. It makes the time pass.

Andrea - I am doing pretty well with my water intake. We were out most of the day today and I didn't drink as much as I would if I were home because I hate having to take my kids in and out of the restroom all day but did pretty well anyway. Thanks for the ticker info.

Hey gang!
Navy mom! WOW! way to go! I know once you get down and don't have much more weight to lose, it doesn't come off as easily anymore, but you are kickin' major butt! I weighed in tonight and lost 1.4. I think my loss is slowing down, so I need to get in some more physical activity. My DH will be home from Iraq the first of December, and I'm going to drag him out to go walk with me. I can't wait to hear how everyone does next week, I know it will be big results! Have a great 3 day weekend, but be good!!!!

Great work Amanda!!!!!! Do you really think you are slowing down? 1.4lbs sounds like a fabulous loss to me. Keep up the great work. Getting you husband to walk with you is a great idea, it's so much easier when you have somebody there to motivate you and get you outside moving. For me it's my son....if I do not take him for a walk on a daily basis I feel guilty. So the weekend is here and this is the hardest time for me. Though I was so disappointed about last weeks weigh in that there is no way I will I accept no loss on Monday.

Brianna, is it not your birthday today.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY AND ENJOY. I hope I am right if not oopppps.
