I thought this might be a fun thread...maybe get some new ideas!
Mine:
-(my very favorite) a rice cake with 1Tbsp peanut butter with a squirt of hersheys lite syrup- you wont be missing peanut butter cups!
-the baked apple has made it to the top of a lot of chickie's lists this week, I do mine in the microwave, just the apple slices and cinammon- if you want, you can overcook it and mush it into applesauce
Favorite OP snack, i think i have a new one each day
but of coarse the baked apple
almond biscotti for the center
melba toast with light cream cheese
twist from the center
yogurt mixed with berries
flavored rice cakes
but i just decided i dont like the pina coloda drink from the center, it taste like soap to me.
im not a big fan of peunt butter but i might try the rice cake with it and choclate syrup.
Layer 1/2 banana, the LA chocolate pudding or fat free sugar free pudding, your favorite LA lite bar mine is chocolate crunch and cool whip. Let sit in the fridge for a little while. You could put berries in it if you wanted to get some fruit. Layer any way you want to make it pretty but it's just like a fancy desert.
I did find that Borden has reduced fat shredded cheese now. I bought some of that last week.
I also tried some Laughing Cow Light Spreadable Cheese at Sam's a couple of weeks ago. When I get some more cash, I'm going to buy some of that. It was alot of cheese, but it was about $9. I have had other items that have taken priority over that.
Shennie - I just use the thinnest ones. The book doesn't specify. Only thing though is that the salt in them does make me retain water, but within a day or so it subsides.
My favorite snack are the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches or Fudgsicles! They count as 1 starch and I always make sure I have room for them. They definately help me with any chocolate cravings I may have.
I also love the cc baked cheese quesadillas with light cheese, sauteed red pepper and red onion, ff sour cream, salsa and a 6 inch tortilla. In my plan 1 counts as 1/2 a protein so you can have two if you want.
Baked apple with cinnamon and stevia is a definate favorite!
In Canada there is a famous place for coffee called Tim Hortons, I don't know what they do to the coffee, but it is quite addicting! Anyway, I love getting a coffee once in a while, but with ff french vanilla creamer.
Chai Tea. The new cookbook has a recipe for it, but I use a chai tea bag in 6oz. of hot water, then about 2 oz. of warm skim milk and splenda. The center said it's also great w/ vanilla soy milk.
