It's Friday in case you hadn't noticed! The Girls were up and out early this morning and are now lazing on the couch in the back room. It's a bit cool out there but I am not putting on a fire for two spoiled dogs. Hersh doesn't know it yet but she is going to 4PawsInn for a bath this morning. There are still vestiges of cream cheese icing in her coat and she has to be in good shape for her re-evluation tomorrow morning. (She's coming out of retirement to work for Thera-Paws once again.]
I didn't do a single "should" yesterday and it was great! I spent about three hours at the Long Horn helping Eve redecorate after changing some tables around but that was fun, not a should. We ate a ww vegetarian pizza between us. Her husband, the chef, does a thin whole wheat crust and even has lf cheese!
There's a s***load of stuff to get done today so I'd better grab another coffee and get with it! What's happening around your towel this morning?
Good morning Ruth and all you FABULOUSO CHICKS!!! Friday Wheeeeeee!...
Ah I was a sluggette myself yesterday...today I must don my Domestic Goddess Robe (read: Schmatta) and catch up on all the chores.... Yesterday we done in by the Canine version of the Great Escape..I called DH over to look at these GOHJIS birds in the yard and butterfly bush and he says ".Where are the 'girls' (since of course they would have been going nuts running after them..) I get the DEER CAUGHT IN HEADLIGHT LOOK. . . we go outside: no puppies: Inside: under the beds, inthe garage: no puppies... Ken hops in the truck... finds them 2 streets over.. Brings them home: Darby dodges him and OFF LIKE A SHOT!!! I'm in our neighbors back yards... I see her: I call her: she comes...just sooo far... I figure okay let's see if she'll listen...DARBY SIT (miraculously she obeys) DARBY WAIT (my god, she is staying..) Scooped up and home she goes... Well, We found the escape Pod: A loose fence board.. heh heh.. Well Ken promptly nailed it down.. so the yard has been pronounced SECURE..How ya can love an animal so dearly...still amazes me: My heart was in my throat, near tears thinking they were puppynapped or run over.. or lost forever..
Anyway I'm off for another CupoJoe!
have a marvy day!
Good Morning and HAPPY Friday!!!
Feeling better. No headache at least. I am VERY excited that all the kid will be in school and I have 2 little guys just for the morning!!
I am baking a cake this morning for DS’s Bday for his class. A hockey rink and then I have player candles. I will absolutely clean the darned bathrooms!!! EW! I will sort and tidy Avon supplies and file misc stuff.
Last night I printed off our bank statements since June and went through each month breaking down our spending.
We dont “waste” any . There is the odd thing that we didn’t need but ya gotta live a little and nothing was frivilous.
The monthy average beyond our daily living expenses and spending is $1000. Yikes. That covers car repairs, sports, babysitters, kids clothes, shoes, renovations.........
We had a bad year in 2004. Right now income is good but we are paying off a debt. Small debt but debt none the less.
I am not as worried as I was. I hope DH can work steady this winter. This has been a great job so far!!!

Schatzi-That was some chase,Happy to here you got your puppys back.
Holly-Glad your feeling better, have fun baking your cake.
I was very very bad last night. My MIL offered me an extra ticket to go see the Smothers Brothers last night and I decided to tag along. They were before my time, but I really thought they were funny. I remember them doing commercials when I was young and I am pretty sure they must have done some TV specials that my mom watched. But, I had to skip my aerobics class to go. And, on top of that the group decided to go to the best Italian joint in town. My favorite spaghetti in the whole wide world! I am feeling it this morning. Back to reality I guess. I have plans to go to the gym tonight, but I have gotten so used to class that I'm not looking forward to "just the machines". I am sure I will feel better after doing it.
Breakfast this morning is egg beaters, ham and low fat cheese in a ww tortilla and a diet Dr. Pepper. My main goals for today are to make it to the gym, drink more water and avoid my BIL's candy box that he made sure to show he had added some of my favorite candy bars to. He gets great pleasure out of tempting me. His wife is heavy and I am beginning to see his role in it!
Morning Ladies
As soon as DH and I hit the grocery we're doing Defcon Level 1. WE've been Baaaad last night we had indian today I feel like an orca! and Dh pondered is there a SBD level 0?
but it was the first time we've had a Date to ourselves out in a while so it was nice!
and I LOVE INDIAN! anyway I'm here with my healthy heart cereal (translation something I don't have to cook!) Coffee and lunch is some 98% FF ham and 2 % Cheese and a V8

Hey chicks!! The other was a bad bad day!! Let's just say I ate lots of cake! Uuugh! I'm so mad at myself I feel gross and bloated. I'm sure it had something to do with the fact that TOM started this morning. But, today is a new day and I will start a week of P1 to kick start my body again. This morning its green beans in scrambled eggs. Love that combination.
I got my new cage for the boys in the mail yesterday....after I just finished b___ing FedEx out on the phone for not leaving it on the porch! Oooops...I just looked right past a big 30 lb box! Duhh!! I called back and sheepily admitted my mistake. I guess PMS reared its ugly head. So, anyway after an hour of assembling this big thing...all by myself, thank you very much, I put the boys in and they now have a rat mansion. Alfred is not too sure about it but Percival promptly started housekeeping and hasn't stopped. I bought them a bed shaped like a car but had to cut the plastic windshield off it as last night they chewed it up pretty bad.
It's going to be a near record high of almost 80 today! It's freakin November, for cryin' out loud. Where's the fall?? Today I'm going to be busy in the lab, have a seminar to go to, got to put out my winter clothes (while it's 80 outside), and tidy up the house a bit. And sometime today I have to go to the library to get some books for my paper that's due in a few weeks. It seems my "to do" list is never done. For dinner I'm making the souflee stuffed chicken with brussel sprouts and broccoli. What are you chicks having tonight??
Ruth: How fun! A therapy dog. I wish my Lila had the temperment for that but unfortunately she's a big 6 year old going on 6 months!! She looks and acts like a big huge hyper puppy.
Schatzi: OMG!! You poor thing. I would've freaked out...OK, I have freaked out in that situation. Our little furbabies are little individuals just like we are with feelings and emotions. They are their own little entities. It's the smart ones like us who realize that....that's how we can love them so much...and freak out when they scare us half to death. So glad they are back safe and sound!
Hollyhock: HI! Have fun with Rainbow and your "zoo" full of human kids!
Beachbum: Hope your hubby feels better! Keep yourself healthy too!
Morning girls!!! Everyone is so busy today. My Mother is flying in today from Miss. She needs a break from Hurrican disaster...We will have a weekend of shopping!!!! I love that. Got a call from my puppy breeder, and momma dog is in labor, so we should have puppies today or into tomorrow. I am a bit behind in my math work. Not feeling very motivated. I made the Meatball casserole last night. It was a huge hit with everyone...DS just said it was too much cheese...so next time, I will make a corner with not as much cheese. The rest of us will gladly eat the extra!!! Tonight I will make Salsa Chicken!! What is on your menu for the day?
Morning! I planned to get in here earlier, but I got a phone call from a friend I hadn't heard from in a long time so we had a lot of catching up to do. What a pleasant way to start the day! Then I waited to hear what Dr. A had to say on GMA, but he didn't really have anything new to talk about except his new cookbook.
I have the morning off again, just have to get the girls from school at 11:30, then we're going out to lunch and running some errands. Hopefully Maggie will nap in the car, she's a real bear if she doesn't get that nap in! I'm really lucky that I'm able to take the kids with me to do whatever I want, and I can even bring them to my house. Not many jobs have that flexibility! I made a delicious supper last night, I marinated tilapia in a garlic-lemon marinade (Wegman's), then sliced some onion and zucchini over it and sprinkled a little Parmesan over it and baked it. It was really good! I was all set to have some Mock Oatmeal for breakfast today but discovered I'm all out of ricotta, so I have to run to the market. I had a Bean Muffin with peanut butter instead, and that was satisfying. I'm just going to have a salad for lunch because I want to save some calories for supper. I'm making a Stromboli with WW pizza dough (Trader J's) with lots of veggies, LF mozzarella and shaved ham. Have a great day!
Did I tell you guys I bought the new SB cookbook? I haven't had time to look through the whole thing but I will definitely try out some stuff next week.
I've been busy packing at work. They changed our move date to next Wed but I've got 5 servers I need to get moved first. I've packed 13 boxes so far and have a couple more to go. There are a lot of bad things about this move but at least we will still have a microwave and it will be upstairs so I will get more exercise. The bad stuff includes no covered parking, no refridgerator, less selection at the cafeteria, small cubes instead of big desks, much less storage and I won't be sitting near the people I work with like I do here. Oh, well, at least I have a job. (so far anyway, we have rumors of layoffs again)
DS and I are sickies - he has brought home yet another cold from daycare, so I have a nasty sore throat, headache, chills, and drippy nose today. DS isn't too bad now - just a little stuffy. I was going to go to Costco and get some canned goods for a food drive the local hs is having (DH's new company doesn't have one, sadly), but I'll have to see if we're up to it.
I have to write a paper on a medieval "Everyman" or miracle play for Monday - we have a few to choose from. Then there is an exam next week, and I have some reading to catch up on in preparation. My head feels like I'm in a fog, so this should be interesting. Oh, and I have an assignment for my science class due Sunday, as well. At least there's only about a month to go.
Enough whining! Maybe I'll make a big pot of Jewish penicillin this weekend - that should help. 'Til then, hot tea will help soothe my throat and banish the chills.
It is Friday and it is supposed to be 78 today! AND best of all, I get to leave work at NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! (not that I'm excited, mind you).
Tonight is Senior Night at the football game. That is where the Senior football players, cheerleaders and marching band members get called out on the field and recognized. My older son graduated in 2004 and it seems like forever ago that I walked out on the field. Now I get to do it again. Sigh. I can't believe Adam is graduating this year. I know I will get choked up and teary eyed when they announce him. They will say, "Senior Field Captain, Contras, Adam Davis, escorting his mother, Aileen Floyd" and then it will hit me that he is really growing up and leaving home soon.
Then again, I can turn his bedroom into a scrapbook haven!
okay, okay that is mean.
Anyway, we have a good bit of family coming for Senior Night (Adam doesn't know). I wish his brother could have come, but he has duty tomorrow. He is coming home next weekend and then Thanksgiving, so we will get to see him a lot this month.
Tomorrow morning Adam has his SAT and then we have to drive like a demon to get him back to the school before he misses the bus for his final band competition. It's about 2 hours away, so he really needs to catch that bus. Normally I go to the competitions to cheer him on, but I'm going to a 12 hour long crop tomorrow with my best friend. I haven't been to one in ages and really need to get working on my books.
Then Sunday is D-DAY. Yup. Phase 1 here I come.
I just ordered the cutest shirt. It is red and yellow and on the front heartside it says "LCpl John J. Davis, II" and on the back with a big mean bulldog it says "Nothing meaner than a Marine . . . 'xept his momma!" hehehehehehe i LOVE it! had to have it!
Hello Ladies how is everyone this wonderful friday morning i'm great.....

HH: Do you use Quicken on line checking? You could go whole hog with automatic e-pay of your bills and download financials right from your bank... or you could use it as a check registry (like a check book) and categorize your expenses automatically... then you can review when you want to see how your money has been allocated.. Its Very Good.. My DH is a IT wizard, so we are all set up with auto this and that... including auto updates to see how our investments (IRA, money markets etc) are doing. The program is worth every penny!
BB: How Scary!!! I hope DH will be okay!!!!
Djett: Ah The Smothers Brothers...Radicals during their time ! I loved the Smothers Brothers show when I was a kid... some of the political humor was over my head back then..but I did love them! My neighbor is taking me to her gym where they have all kinds of classes... I was looking at Curves but I think I would be bored in no time with what they offer...Maybe ask DH for Xmas present for a membership to this new gym...we are going next week to check it out.
