Smile Hi everyone!

Hello everyone,

I am a newbie and just wanted to say hello and see if anyone was interested in buddying up. I am 24 and have been trying to lose weight forever, but I lack the motivation to stick with it. I get started, do okay for a while and then fall off the wagon. To be within my healthy weight range I would need to lose about 100 lbs. Of course looking great would be fantastic, but I really want to do something before I start having weight related problems other than just being tired all the time. I love to knit, read and do crafts of all sorts. I want to focus on exercising and just making healthier choices as far as diet goes. (May be starting the SB diet...I tried once before but I had HORRIBLE headaches the whole time I was on it) I guess I'm really just looking for someone who knows what it's like to trade support. If you're interested please let me know!

Britt

I can really relate to you about doing good for awhile then just totally falling off the wagon. It happens to all of us. Sometimes it's hard to get the motivation to do my exercising because frankly I don't like it. I think if I could stick at it long enough, I could like it a little better. Especially if I were doing things that I like. I am really interested in Taebo. I am not any specific diet. I'm just trying to cut things out of my diet and try to eat and make healthier choices. I figure you can never have too many buddies. It's just nice to get different advice and the moral support. Good luck on your journey.

Thanks for the Welcome! Yeah, I don't really like exercising either. I'm okay with pilates and things like that, but the cardio gets me. I have found something pretty fun though. DDR is awesome. The music really gets me going. So I am hoping to start out at 30-45 minutes a day and go from there.

Welcome! I'm also in the same boat. This is about the 3rd or 4th real attempt at trying to lose weight. At one point I had lost about 40 pounds and then gained it all back. Oh well, what's important is we're doing it again right!

I wouldn't recommend doing that diet again if you got headaches from. It just may not agree with your body. I'm doing the same thing as AnnieFannie. Not on a "diet" just cutting out and cutting down on certain foods.

I am actually interested in trying DDR. The new Mario one is coming out this week so I might get that. What one do you have? If you like the dancing there are exercise videos that get you dancing too. You could look into those. Good luck!

That's right! DDR is so much fun. The one I have now is DDR Extreme. I used to have Konamix for PSone but I lost it. Extreme is cool. It has YMCA, Duran Duran songs and a few older ones. Plus you can track your approximate calories burned.

I have seen some of the videos. Have you tried any of them? I have the Goddess Workout bellydancing video. It's good for stretching but zilch for cardio.

I think you may be right about SBD. It's supposed to be pretty healthy but maybe I'd be better off just trying it on my own. I can always try something else later.

I know what you mean about gaining back. I got down to a size 10 (don't know what weight I wasn't weighing then) a few years back, but once I started gaining back it just kept going up and up. I hit a plateau and stopped working out. I also discovered delivery and that was all she wrote. Good luck to you too!

I also have the goddess workout. I have My Personal Trainer by Rania on order. It's also bellydancing but supposedly a lot heavier on cardio. It has different programs you can select and one is called sleek in a week. If you follow it you're supposed to lose like 3 lbs a week. The Carmen Electra one is really popular, I don't know if I'm brave enough to do a striptease video though!

Yeah a friend of mine bought the Carmen Electra Striptease awhile ago. She likes it. I don't know how daring I would be to do it. Well, atleast right now that is. If I were in better shaped and felt better about my body, I would give it ago. I think the belly dancing one would be fun. Too bad I live in a small apartment. It makes doing videos literally impossible to do. There's no room to move when you are watching. I need a bigger apartment.

Default can't stay on track

I also have a hard time staying on track. After my 1st child I lost 60lbs and kept it off till I got pregnant with my 2nd child then I gained it all back plus some. I haven't been able to stick to anything since then. I hate that I am tired and too out of shape to run and play with my kids like they want me too. I want to join in instead of sitting on the sidelines. I could really use the support.

I have the Carmen Electra one too. It looks kinda fun, but to be honest I haven't really done it. I felt so goofy I turned it off and did pilates instead. Wow I'll have to look into the personal trainer one. Hi Shaninks! Good to meet you. You've come to the right place.

I got DDR Mario Mix tonight and geez is it a workout! I really like it except when you have to jump, like two arrows at once. Everything bounces It makes time go a lot faster though, I did about an half an hour of free mode and was suprised how fast the time had gone! It also counts calories but I didn't know how to do it until about halfway through.

lol Yeah the bouncing is kinda lame. My boyfriend laughs at me because I know when the jumps come up and my hands fly up to my chest. A good sportsbra will help some, but not quite enough in my experience. How is Mario? Does it have alot of songs? I will be needing to get another one eventually and there are a ton out now. You are right about it passing time. Especially because if you look up to check time you miss your beats.
I totally lost track today. I had espresso this morning...which I never do so I was the energizer bunny and lunch was a disaster. The joys of a ten hour work day. So needless to say while I'm off tomorrow I'll be unlocking lots of levels. Got a new char day before yesterday.

Right now it doesn't look like there are many songs but it might be because I'm still on easy. I have probably 1/2 unlocked. I have nothing really to compare it to as this is my first one. I was looking online and I couldn't find other ones for the Gamecube. What system do you have? So far I've burned about 350 calories on it. We should start like a DDR group on here and get people to try it!

Yeah we should start a DDR group. That would be alot of fun! I do it on easy too. I am going to have to bump it up though b/c some of the songs I can go through without missing. I have a PS2. I'm not sure but Mario may be the only one for gamecube. I haven't checked it out.
