Default Looking for women over 65 to identify with.

Hello out there. I am a binge over eater and would like to talk to someone who is over 65 regarding this problem.
The younger girls are busy with children and meals and husbands whereas I only have a dog, cat and a husband recovering from knee replacement surgery.
I have a problem driving by a Tim Horton's coffee and donut shop and they are all over the place. I go 80 miles every second day right now to visit my husband who is undergoing rehab physio. I consider the drive through as entertainment.
Lately at night, I am eating nuts or potatoe chips. I consume too many carbs for an old overweight girl.
Is there anyone out there who can identify with that??? Marj.

I'm sorry no one has responded to you yet! Noone responded to my request for a 40 yr old buddy...I guess there are lots of young gals here.

That coffee, donut shop sounded tempting (and comforting) to me as I was reading your post. I hope your husband has a complete recovery!

Maybe you can try munching on fruit in the eve. I like frozen berries and grapes. Or just eating a piece of fruit is always satifiying and a healthy choice. (I need to practice what I preach

I'm not 65 but I'm here if you want a friend!

Talking over 65

Hi Shanarain: What a nice name! Sure I want to talk with you. Never to old to learn from the younger ones. I just don't have the same stresses as the gals who have to get the kids off to school and do all the extra caricular things as well as feeding higher numbers. Just my husband and I. My husband, Bill, is a type two diabetic and when he comes home from hospital on Tuesday, we will both be on the diabetic diet from the hospital. My problem will be keeping myself from cheating. Bill will not have a choice because he can't get off the main floor. He used to cheat in the basement while playing computer games. I would vacuum up nuts that he had dropped and didn't know he did it.
I may not be on the computer a lot in the next week but will check in when I can. Let me know about yourself and how you are doing on this plan. Bye now. Marj.

Default What day is weigh in day?

Hi Shawnarain9: I am wondering what day is weigh in day. Do you think Mondays are OK?
This was my afternoon to work in the office and I bought a cabbage roll at the store and some potato salad for my supper. That was not a good choice but it was fast. I had to walk the dog and make his supper too. Got all of season 2 of 'Six Feet Under' on Ebay. Will finish it off tonight. No snacking! Marjiebrown.

Hello to both of you. There are some older folk here - I'm 56, but we are generally out and about on the threads. Why don't you go to one of the threads and get to know the ladies (and gents) there. I know there are threads on the Support Group Forum for people over 40, over 50, over 60, diabetic threads, etc. etc. There is something for just about everything you want here. You're welcome to call in at my thread (Another spin around the world) on the Support groups forum. We love new faces and people to chat with and one of the beauties of being stretched across the world is that generally there is always someone on line!

Good luck with your life's journeys.

Default Playing nurse now

Hi Shawnarain9 and Shad;
My dog is a Shih Tzu named 'Spud' and I have a black one year old cat named 'Walker' by my son-in-law. Declan was with me when I found Walker at age 4 weeks. He seemed to be abandoned but I found out after I had adopted him, he had been lost by his mother when moving the litter. Our winters are cold and strays can freeze to death.
I used to want a Siberian Huskey with blue eyes. Never got one though. My sister has one. She named her 'Sky'.
A neighbour has a border collie and it tries to herd dogs or kids or anything it can get into a group. I have seen them work at dog trials and they are facinating.
I got my husband home from hospital today. He has a knee replacement and was in hospital for 18 days, 14 of which were in rehab. He stil needs a lot of help.
Thanks Shad for the advice on places to look in this site. There will be no cheating tonight. Too tired!! Talk later, Marj.
