The coffee is on so come and get it. We will sit in the back room this morning and throw another piece of wood on the fire which seems to have held overnight. Scrambled eggs with onions and mushrooms for everyone?
Not much happening today except I am going to take Hershey up to Maple View Lodge to do a bit of Thera-Paws visiting. Lucy still seems OK so I'm not going to fret about leaving her for the hour or so.
At least that's the plan! Who knows what the day will bring? Sunshine would be nice but it isn't going to happen, I'm afraid.
Morning, Ruth. I'd love to come and set a bit, but I've got to get myself off to bed. Insomnia strikes again! I'm supposed to go shopping with my mother - she'll be here in about 6 hours and I still haven't slept a wink. Arrgh!
My classes are going well so far (knock on wood!). I'm still at the head of my environmental science class, and I received my first essay back from my expository writing class: A-. Not too bad for a first paper. I just submitted essay #2 (titled "My Cup of Tea" - you can guess the subject!) so I should get that back in a week or two. I hope it's not too long - she wanted something around 3-4 pages or so, and I was at 6 plus the works cited page. But no one who critiqued it thought it was too long, including my mother (who at least can be honest with me!), so I'm probably safe.
Still PMSing, so I've no idea what my weight is doing - I just will not weigh myself while I'm bloated and hormonal and cranky! But I was holding steady (my current goal) pre-PMS, so hopefully I'll be okay when this is over with.
Sorry for my continuous poor attendance here - I miss chatting with all of you! It's hard to believe that the quarter is already almost half over with - then I might have some free time (although with the holidays, who knows....).
I hope you all have a terrific weekend. I hope it clears up for all of you in the eastern part of the US (and Canada, too? I'm assuming you are equally deluged?) so you can get some nice, crisp, sunny fall days in before winter!
Wish I had magic wand I would make the sun brust out of the clouds to shine on all of us.Sorry I don't have one.
My bright sunshine for today is I LOST another 2 lbs. I can't believe the scale this morn.I had to go on it serveral times,to wake up to reality.
Ruth-I'll have a cup of java and pass on the eggs & mushrooms.Happy to hear Lucys fine this morn,I'm sure you would have seen some kind of symphoms buy now. What kind of glasses did you wind up getting??????????
H-ko-Sorry to hear about your insomia. Try to get some winks in. "My Cup of Tea" what a intriging title.I sure you'll get an A for that only.Glad I don't have TOM or his croneys around anymore. Never had cramps but the flow was very bad,had to take two pair of clothes with me to work every day. Its was aweful.
Try to have a nice weekend, even that its dark wet and yucky out.
Hi Ruth.... ummm. scrambled eggs and musrooms sounds yummmy.... well it stopped raining here in NY so thats a plus.. the sun is out.. I did a water aerobics at 7 am, now im just going to sort thru winter clothes today... dietwise, I didnt do well this past week, was out of control and afraid to get on the scales for sure... I am going to get a grip on it today.. everyone have a g reat weekend and talk at ya later, India
Ruth, what kind of doggies?? we got a 5 lb yorkie who thinks hes a rottie...
India, my Girls are Portuguese Water dogs who think they are princesses of some sort. My neighbour has a wee Yorkie who also thinks he's a big dog. Lovely critters!
Well, I've cleaned up my kitchen very thoroughly. I feel like such a sloth when I have dishes around. The damned floor is going to have to wait until it stops raining! Yes, it's still at it. I have a neighbour who is hosting a wedding IN HER GARDEN this afternoon. I bet things are tense in that household this morning.
Beach Bum and H-Ko, I am so glad to be all done with PMS and TOM! Now I can be *****y and bloated for other reasons!
Gotta go and straighten out some Journal problems before Hershey and I go to do our Nursing Home Visit. This si not the one where Harry is but the one that is nice and close. He is on the list to move there which will be much better - a ten minute drive versus a fifty minute one!
Good weekend everyone!!!
I'm off from work today - HURRAY!!!! I have lots of cleaning and laundry to do, so I'm off to do that!! DBF is at work right now, but said he would help me when he gets home....NO!!!! I hate the way he "cleans." So I must get as much done before he gets home!
Tomorrow starts a long work week for me.....I get to work 48 hours instead of my usual 40 - but hey it's overtime!! That money will help with xmas & the rent (our rent just went up $90!!)
Well I'm off to clean - wish me luck! Have a great weekend!!
I failed this weekend. I saw that I'd gained 1.6lbs over night, got discouraged and went full blown off diet at the Olive Garden. I guess I'm going to have to start over tomorrow.
Sorry that I haven't been around too much lately - papers are due at university and we are only a few weeks off end of year exams... so just feeling a little under the pump.. but on the plus side - only a few more weeks until our big summer break..... woo hooo
I hope everyone is well.. I will pop in later to read all of the threads
WinterWonder, failure is falling down and NOT getting up. Let's just say you wandered off the Beach. We've all done that.
Marianna, it always throws me when you say something that makes me realize our seasons are reversed! Plough ahead with those papers and study hard for the exams so you can really enjoy the summer break.
Lucy still seems OK. She was a bit miffed that I took Hershey to the nursing home yesterday but I'll take her to see Harry this afternoon.
The sun broke through just in time for the garden wedding so everyone was delighted. I think everything went well although I did hear police sirens a few times last night. The reception was at the Fair Hall and this family (both sides) are known for drinking and fighting!
I have a cranberry topped coffee cake in the oven right now - can you smell it? It is definitely not OP but will be appreciated by the post-Church coffee crew! It's a new recipe so I'll have to taste test a tiny sliver. I'm a little leery about it as the canola oil was pretty old and had a bit of a smell. Let's hope the baking got rid of that. I didn't know canola expired!
It's cloudy again and threatening rain. After Church I'll do some things indoors and then will go to visit Harry this afternoon with Lucy. He will freak when he hears about the glass munching!
Sunday here in NY is clear so far.. I see a patch of blue up there, how long it will last, who knows.... India is helping me type (cat) at 13 lb she is a bit too big to sit on my lap and type at the same time, lol.....
I wandered off the beach myself.. but dd is going to start again today, so, between us, we will get the program rolling....
I have never seen a portugese water dog, just on tv once.... I make some wonderful cranberry/flax muffins, they are probably not op either, but I used splenda for sugar, they do have flour tho... yummy
I am headed to the gym this morning after coffee.. have a great day everyone.. India
H-Ko~ I am a former insomniac. Do you do yoga? There a few postures before bed that really help. I like herbal teas, like chammomile.Ruth has had that rain all week. we are just getting it today in South west Ontario.
Ruth~ yikes for the garden wedding. What did they do?? ( oh I just read further)
I am off to super clean the kitchen today.HUGS to Harry. Stay cozy.
Busy but wonderful day yesterday. My food has been better than abysmal but not much. I am not feeling well with a mild cold and terrible headache. I find it hard not to eat comfort food, which ends up being bread and such.
Much housewrok to do. enjoyable on arainy day. I wetn through some clothes and am givng some to the thrift shop that I didn't wear last winter. I ordered 2 pairs of jeans form sears in size 20. 1 size down from the last 5 years ,LOL!
I need to get my food lists out and focus better on choices.
I went to Grandma's to do her hair and visit. She had bought the kids magazines through the school for Xmas gifts and decided to pay me cash instead of cheque because my aunt has been going through her cheque book and records questioning her about her finances. My Grandma is a fininacial whiz and has all her marbles and can certainly buy her great grand kids gifts. The issue for the aunt would be that it was my idea. Stupid woman.Oh, it might cut into her greedypaws inheritance too. My Grandma definitely appreciates what I do. We have been best friends all of my life. I dont doubt that. That is probably what makes putting up with the aunt tolerable.
C'est la vie!!!
Off to putter at house work and keep cozy.
