Default Okay, so I live in the dorms at college

And that means my options are limited. They're a bit veggie friendly and the way they craft their menu makes it look more veggie friendly than it really is. I'm thankful they do that, though!

I've cut any soda, I'm trying to back off the kool-aid types of drinks and the lemonade because it's just flavored sugar water.

Has anyone else gone through this too? The dorm thing?

Unfortunately, I know what you mean. I have yet to see any nutrition info about my college's food, but seems like everything is either boiled or fried. And some days their idea of a vegetarian option is spagetti without tomato sauce (they've got freaking meatballs and gravy of course) and boiled peas. GRRRR.

Other than a few really bad food days now and then, they sometimes have veggie burgers to munch on for protein and stuff. Usually my problem isn't finding enough to eat, but more of eating too much of the little that there is.

It seemed so much easier when I lived at home and laziness meant that dinner was either mac & cheese OR stir fry OR salad, etc. None of that "oh, well, there's spagetti and grilled eggplant and OMG black bean burgers! Just my luck, I've gotta get some of each!"

So yeah. Umm, I guess I don't have much advice for you. I'm just here ***** with you.

Well at least we're not alone! Sounds like you've got it real hard. If you feel ambitious, you can go to the managers or whatever and talk to them about it. Or let them know of ways of separating the meat from the veggies so you can have an easier time about it...stuff like that.

If they know there's a demand, then they'll do it. Try and find some other vegetarians (or omni friends to pose as vegetarians) to talk to them too, and just bug them till they do it!

Haha, it's really not that bad. I'm just way too used to cooking for myself. There's actually a suggestion book in the cafeteria, and they do read it! I feel kind of pretentious giving cooking tips to professionals, but I did once suggest more cumin in the black bean burgers, and they took my advice (Not as much as I'd like, but still!)

I actually gained 30 lbs my first semester of college (so there was definately enough veg stuff for me to eat). None since then, thankfully, but this is going to be the semester I lose it again. I hope. Then maybe I can get rid of my SAT and AP exam pounds from high school.

Just English lit, MacroEconomics, Statistics, Government, and Calc AB. And, well, I passed the first three. But none of it really counted as anything more than a few hours of credit anyway. Pretty much all electives credit type stuff.

That's INSANE!!! The only ones offered in my school are Chem, Calculus, and English.

I took and passed the English. I was amazed that I did, lol.
