Default Is Supper the Problem?

Yes, I'm out of bed waaay too early. I've had a couple of questions running around in my head so I got up, made coffee and her I am to ask.

I read here very often something tha goes about like this "I've been so good all day but at about 4:30 I just lost it. I ate nonstop until I finally just went to bed." ....or .... "I'd had 550 calories all day and then at dinner I had extra potatoes, I ate the last pork chop ...."

What is it? I wonder if it is the sheer volume of food we eat at our ritual meal with our family. Is it let down or stress? Is it the infamous 'carb craving'? Have we actually been starving ourselves all day and just too busy to notice?

What do you think?

What would you change between say 4 o'clock and bedtime ... if you thought it would help?

I'll start another thread for my other thought.

Keeping busy helps. Since I moved my exercise time to the afternoon I don't have that free 'boredom' time before dinner. I get home most days by 4pm and usually aim for a 6:30-6:45 meal time. With a bed time of 9:30 to 10pm this isn't too bad. If I skip the exercise though I've got 2-1/2 hrs to fill and way too much food in the house!

If I allow myself to become too hungry then I'm a non stop eating machine once I get home from work. But if I have a snack about 4:00-usually a cheese stick and a piece of fruit I can handle the food when I get home. If not, then I'm grazing all evenings.

I eat every 2-4 hours and this helps me a LOT around 4pm because I have had regular meals before the 4pm witching hour...

7:30am, 11:30, 2pm, 4pm just before preparing supper I eat something like cottage cheese and strawberries, because I KNOW I will munch on the supper stuff if I don't, we have supper around 6pm... done for the day, ''Kitchen is now CLOSED''

Winthrop, a teeny tiny speck between Kitchener and Goderich, the back way . My daughter is dating a fellow from Burlington. We went to a wedding there just a couple of weeks ago. Burlington Alliance Chuch on New Street, very nice. Nice trees in that area.

BTW ... I am sooo impressed with your success so far. You are an excellent example to folks everywhere. Blessings in your healthy lifestyle!

Susan - I know Kitchener, but not your specific town. Yes, I like Burlington. We moved here about 8/9 years ago but bought an older home because the general neighbourhood is nicer (ie. more trees).

As for the progress, I'm of the mind that all progress is good. Me, I'm doing well but still have a very long way to go. Thanks though.
