Default Chipotle?

Hi,

Im a newbie to the south beach diet. im in the middle of being very excited and very scared!!! But, i was just wondering if any of you knew if we could eat chipotle? Like a burrito bol with no rice and lettuce instead?

The ingrediants would be chicken, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and black beans.

Thanks,
Ladhu

Hi, I'm pretty new myself but I thought I'd jump in. I think the ingredients are okay but the dairy (cheese and sour cream) should be low fat or non-fat. I hope this helps. Good luck on the program.

I do eat occasionally at Chipotle and I get the burrito bowl. Be careful with their meats. They appear to be high fat and even the chicken seems to have a marinade that is probably not okay for South Beach. If you plan on eating the chicken you might ask them what it is marinated in. What I do is I get the veggie bowl without rice. I get lots of black beans. Since I know that the cheese and sour cream is not likely to be low fat, I ask for just a small amount of cheese and I leave off the sour cream. Since I usually eat these at home, I can add my own sour cream.

I also limit the amount of guacamole since they put more than we are allowed. I personally feel that Chipotle is fine for an occasional treat. I usually weigh about a pound more the next day but that may be water retention.

Is chipotle a restaurant or something? The only chipotle I know of is the smoked jalepenos.

It is a casual restaurant http://www.chipotle.com/

Go to the URL and click on Find. Looks like they are in quite a few states.
Their menu is off the Eat option.
