Default New in Idaho

Hi, my name is Wendy and I'm new to this. I woke up this morning and decided it was finally time to get this weight off once and for all. I'm so tired of being tired all the time and hate the way I feel. Also I hate that I limit my activities because of my weight. Besides just wanting to look better, more then anything I want to be healthier.

So, I guess I could use a buddy or two for support as well as to provide support......and hopefully make a friend on two along the way.

Hi Wennie!! I'm knew to this as well. If you like, we can buddy up. I'm 33, Female, and I live in Washington with my 2 wonderful boys and terrific hubby. With my weight, well... I lost so far about 55lbs which is good but I still have a long way to go. I need to loose about 60 more pounds. I'm currently at 187lbs. I think having a buddy on here to help with support helps you stay more focused and more motivated. My hubs and kids motivate me as well but sometimes I think it helps more when your going thru it with someone that is in the same boat. If you need a buddy for support, I would be more then happy to help you. Jenn~

Wow, how much I have to lose? I'm going to have to guess right now, just because since I moved to Idaho and haven't unpacked everything I have no idea were my scale is......but I would say it's probably well over 100 lbs. I'm 43 years old, but have felt lately like 143!! No, I don't have kids and am not married, but I am engaged to a wonderful guy who keeps telling me he only wants me to be healthy so I can be around for him for a long long time.

I do try to excercise by walking right now, but I haven't been really faithful to sticking to a schedule.

Hey Jenn, first of all congratulations on losing 55 so far, that's fantastic!!! I would love to have you for a support buddy!

I moved to Idaho a short while ago, and really hadn't planned on staying in my current residence for too long, so I haven't unpacked much of anything, so I don't know where my scale might be, but I would have to guess I need to lose well over 100 lbs. I'm 43, I don't have any kids and I'm not married, although I am engaged to a wonderful man who keeps telling me he just wants me healthy. But he doesn't have a problem with weight, and doesn't really understand why losing it is so difficult. So I have to agree it would be much easier to be able to talk with someone who understands the struggle.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Wendy! I just joined today, but I wanted to reply to this.

I also live in Idaho!! I have about 150 - 200 lbs to loose, Yeah, I am a big girl. But, its the end. I was on a huge weight loss kick before, then I ended up getting pregnant.

I went from 380 (after my daughter) down to 310!! Then got pregnant with my son and have found myself back at 350 again.

Its hard being a stay at home mom, money is TIGHT I cant get a gym membership right now. Soon, I hope. But, please pm or email me if you want to talk. I would LOVE buddying up with you!

Hi, Wendy, I just joined today, too. I'm 41 years old, married, but have no kids. I had way over 100 lbs to lose. So far I have lost 49 and have 96 more to go. It took me 9 months to lose that much, so it's not like it has been fast and easy for me, but it's been worth it. I'll be a buddy if you don't mind a kinda flaky buddy, that is, I know I'll go through phases where I won't look at 2 Fat Chicks for 2 weeks, then I'll be back again, then off again, over and over. That's how I am with internet forums.

First I want to congratulate you on the loss of your first 49 lbs, that’s fantastic. How did you do it? I can use all the advise I can get at this point. So, any support at all weather it’s consistent or just on occasion is helpful.

I lost the weight on the NutriSystem program. It has worked really well for me. I think the beauty of it for me is the automatic portion control. The food comes in one-serving packages and it is super-easy to prepare. My problem has not been so much eating "bad" stuff, just eating too much, period. I tried South Beach and E-diets for a while, but since you make your own food, I just was eating too much and didn't have a whole lot of success. Also, I am not real big on exercise. At this point, I am still overweight enough that just going through my daily chores has been enough exercise, but I'm sure at some point I will have to start something more formal.

NutriSystem might seem kind of expensive at first, but when you break it all down, it's around $9 a day for your breakfast, lunch, and dinner main dishes and a snack. You provide your own fruit, vegetables, and certain protein servings. The longer you're on the program, the cheaper the food becomes. (I'm at the point where I get a 15% discount.) The food is all stuff that you eat as-is, add boiling water, or microwave. None of it needs to be refrigerated. You order all your food on-line and they have a big web site, discussion forum, and all that good stuff. They send a big box of food by Fed-Ex once a month. You get to choose the foods you want, of course. (If you get more than one of something and you find out you don't like it, you can always sell it on E-bay. A lot of people do that. I've done it, too.) If you are interested in NutriSystem, look at their web site nutrisystem.com. If you are really interested in joining, I think they have refer-a-friend program whereby if a member refers someone else, the new person gets $15 off of the first month's order.
