Unhappy Well, It Turns Out The Scales At The Gym Are BROKEN~! I Have Lost WAY Less...

Than I thought I did. I have lost a total of only 16 pounds. I am so discouraged and disgusted. I feel like a failure

aw... well dont ! coz your not ! look at the bright side. 16lbs is better than none at all. pick yourself back up and continue on. look at this as just another challenge for yourself okay ? we know you can do it :hugs:

ps: you havent failed until youve stopped trying.

You are not a failure. Think of how much 16 pounds actually weighs. Now, imagine how you feel with that much weight off of your body. I am sure you have noticed some benefits with the weight gone, maybe your back does not hurt as much or your clothes fit a little better (they may even be baggy).

Sveva:
Sorry to hear about your disappointment and thanks for cheering me up when I was discouraged because I hadn't lost any weight. That number on the scale is not who you are. What is really important is that you are taking better care of yourself and owning your body. Show that body off with pride. It is yours!!!

Only 16 pounds! That's way over a tenth of what you want to lose (it's about 14% of 120 lb). And you've done the hardest part if you're anything like me - that incredibly difficult two foot shift from sitting to moving. Don't worry about it. I find that the biggest danger to me is expecting to lose more than I do and using that as an excuse to give up. And remeber any loss or maintenance has double the value of any gain ( if you gain one lb you have to lose it to get back to where you started. Each pound you lose is one less and one you didn't gain - which may be rather fuzzy logic but it helps me. Best of luck!
