My name is Shirah; I'm 29 and 2 weeks ago I go ton the scale and weighed 205lbs! I couldn't believe I got here it seems like not too long ago I was 145. I realized I really needed to do something so I started a strict diet. I am down 11 lbs.
I would love to have a buddy either by email or someone I could meet with for walks; it's much easier with a buddy!
Hello and welcome. I would love to be your buddy. I am 28 and married with no kids (except my 2 cats and 2 dogs). I have just now got back in the groove of posting so a buddy would be great. I need some serious motivation. I am gonna work really hard for the next 3 months or so and see how my results turn out. If I am not satisfied, I am thinking of lapband surgery.
You will really enjoy the forum. It is very addicting.
Hi Cassandra
I am also married with no kids, no pets either. How long have you been on the board? Do you have short term goals? I have been rewarding myslef for every 5 lbs lost. I think that is the only way I can stick to it. What is lapband surgery?
I joined the message board probably a couple or years ago, then I fell off the wagon (so to speak) and just quit. Maybe if I hadnt quit I wouldnt have gained all of my weight plus some back. I guess my short term goal is probably something around 50 pounds. I have something called PCOS that makes it harder to lose weight. We found that when we had to see a fertility dr. He put me on some meds and made me see a dietician. I lost right at 60 lbs in 3 months. I had to go to the dr today (because I threw by back out) and got her to refill that med. So, I am gonna try it again. I guess we will see what happens.
Lapband surgery is a less invasive type of gastric bypass. They go in and put a band around part of your stomach that is filled with a saline. The band is attached to a tube that has a port on the end that is implanted under the skin. Ever so often they can put in/take out the saline according to your needs. Gee. thats hard to explain.
I'm new here as well, and looking for a supportive buddy for daily walks or just any kind of motivation or support, in the century city area (in L.A.). I'm currently 175lbs need to loose about 50lbs. I've on WW for 1yr. and I haven't dropped a pound, I can's seem to stick to anything; by the way i forgot to mention that my husband is no help. I need HELP!!!!!
Hi everyone. I just popped in here with a suggestion for Kellem (or anyone else In the exercise section there are several threads where people post what they do for exercise each day. I find it very motivating. Wanna try?
Hello Shirah. It sounds like our goals are exactly the same. I have something called PCOS that makes it hard for me to lose weight and get pregnant. I know I am only 28 but I feel like time is running out for me. I thought I would have probably 2 by now. It just stinks to see these people that you always thought were so young, married with a couple of kids and here I am with nothing but a chip on my shoulder. I have found my new attitude though. I am working on it!!!!!
Hope to hear from you soon.
