Talking Denise Austin's Personal Training System DVD a PLUS! :)

Just bought one of her newer DVDs (Personal Training System) and wow--do I feel a burn I think its a very good at home exercise video because it lets you customize your own mix and match workout (split into many 10-15 minute chapters) with:

1. low & high intensity cardio

2. low, medium & high intensity upper body toning

3. low, medium & high intensity lower body toning

4. abs

5. stretches

the only real equipment here needed are weights for the higher-intensity exercises & a chair for balance (VERY thankful that it had no resistant bands, which thusfar has only been effective in flogging me to near-death.)

Currently I'm at high-intensity on the cardio & medium intensity for the tonings. (alternating cardio-ab on one day, and the two tonings & stretch the next)

Are there any other customized exercise DVDs out there that mixes cardio, toning, and stretches? (Denise is great, but I know I will be bored soon enough .)

yep! that's the one... her Power Zone Metabolism Boosting Workout is good too (even though it uses resistance bands, which I'm not too fond of)

Awesome! I ordered a few the other morning.

Denise Austin Personal Trainer
Denise Austin Power Zone Metabolism Boosting Workout
Denise Austin Female Fat Zones
Denise Austin Fat Burner

I am not exactly sure on the titles but I got 4 Denise Austin's. I am waiting for them all to be delievered here. I thought I needed to be doing more then just WATP, which I love and will continue to do daily. But throwing Denise Austin in there too should help tons.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I sure appreciate it.

I have the Personal Trainer dvd. When I first watched it, I absolutely hated her voice, especially on the cardio. I still don't like the cardio portion -- too many tricky steps for a klutz -- but I really do like the upper, lower, and abs section.
The stretching part leaves a little to be desired -- I like Karen Voigt's stretching routine better. So, I use Denise for strength training, Leslie for cardio, and Karen for stretching. It's like having three friends!

Yeah her voice can be annoying sometimes lol. It has to grow on ya lol. You got a good plan there with your friends! Thats a very good and positive way to think about it lol.

Yea, Denise's voice is something that has to be acquired (I find it funny that Personal Trainer offers a "no Denise voice - Music Only" option).

Also, the Personal Trainer System works with weights while the Fat Burner uses a step-bench (both of which I hope you've got.) The Power Zone uses a resistance band (included with DVD) and I have no clue about Female Fat Zone 'cause I'm not female :-p (yes, it's a little odd hearing her talk about bra overhangs and cleavages... not to mention some of the exercises that tend to be unwielding with something between the legs.)

Currently I alternate between the Personal Trainer & Power Zone DVD -- one day I'll do the PT cardio with PZ toning (upper, lower & abs), the next day I'll do PZ cardio with PT toning (all 3.) On days when I know I'll eat heavier (over 1,600 calories, implying anytime I get asked to eat out ) I usually throw in an extra workout (sometimes with Denise, sometimes on a DDR machine .)

AquaWarlock,

Lol... your to funny! I do have weights and a stepper somewhere lol. I am going to have to find it. I didn't realize I needed it. But that makes me happy! I loved using the stepper! And the tape I have for it I didn't care for much I don't think. So this is cool. I will have to look for it today. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Ultimate Fat Burner and her personal training system are by faves. I've tried loads of tapes but am totally coordinationally challanged so i need a workout with some intensity by minimal choreographic frills. Have a great time with the new videos.

LOL! I bought Denise's Personal Training System last week, and her voice is killing me!! DH says he thinks she's on crack! I'm hoping to get the hang of it soon, so I can use the music only version. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks her voice is a bit unnerving!!

Lol. The music seemed blah to. I like having it on and listening to something else... radie, a different tv whatever. It makes the time go by faster too.

The female fat zone one, i don't think you need a step or band, just weights. don't quote me on that though! i also really like Denise Austin's Blast Away 10 Pounds. It has a quick boxing section and a weights/aerobic section.

Denise Austin's Female Fat Zones uses weights and a body ball thing. But, I think these are just recommended. It has been awhile since I have the video. I do remember her on the ball though... but I would think you could find another way to do that part or skip it.

The Blast Away 10 Pounds sounds like a good one! I am not sure if I have that one more not. I will have to see.

I have the Female Fat Zones DVD, and really like it. You need weights and the ball is recommended. But I think you have to have to ball to do some of the work outs on the 2nd half - Some of them you can get away without the ball, but most of them you need it.

I am actually off to go do that video
