Hi all.

I hope you all had good weekends. Mine was fine. We did go to the Latin music festival in the city. I did pretty good food-wise and only used a dozen flex points. Three of them I spent on enjoying a beer. Today I went for my annual mammogram and, as a treat, I had Popeye's chicken for lunch. I have the points for it and it fit in with my carb servings nicely. I sat down at the table and just ate - no books or radio or anything. I focused on the food and enjoyed every single bite!

Have a great evening.

Carla,
Great for you and I am jealous too...popeyes yum! We spent the weekend getting ready for the hurricane glued to the tv. We faired well (being on the Al/Fl border is a little scary and I will be glad to move in Dec) only lost some shingles and some siding. I binged on Sat. I guess due to the stress BUT I did get back on the wagon yesterday and today (and Friday) and I have walked/jog on the treadmill three times since I got it. I am so impressed with myself and am very into this. I am back to 198.5 so I HAVE hit the 24 points instead of 26- and REFUSE to go back up. I hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

Kelly - I'm glad to hear that you came out of Katrina ok. I hope Rachel fared as well. My heart just breaks for all the people in Louisiana, Mississipi and Alabama. My heart especially breaks over New Orleans. It really underscores how bad it is when the reporters can't keep from crying as their filing their reports and doing their interviews. Where will you be moving in December?

I've had a good couple of days foodwise. I've got the carb servings down pat. Now I have to pay more attention to the fat and meat servings and make sure I get those in properly. But I'm still doing fine on points, so that's good. I'm probably eating better than I have in a long time, especially in terms of getting in my milks and my fruits and veggies. But, I really have to sit down and do some meal planning, especially so I can do some major grocery shopping.

Take care and I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Hi Ladies!
Sorry I'm late this week--I have either been working or watching CNN.
We did fare just fine with Katrina (I'm in Central FL). I'm glad because last year we got hit soooo badly with the other storms.
BUT--remember my Aunt and Cousin that came to visit and sabotaged my diet? Well, they live in Slidell, LA. That town is basically destroyed. Anyway I knew they had evacuated, but they only went to Laurel, MS, which was also in the storm's path. So I have been worried all week and they finally called me today from Atlanta. They weathered the storm in Laurel and it took them until last night to get to Atlanta. They are with distant relatives, so they might come here eventually. My aunt wants to go home, but I told her not to, there is nothing there yet and they are looking at 8-12 WEEKS without power. It's so horrible. At least they are safe.
As for the WW, I lost half a pound but I don't really think it counts. Not too bad since I had a few "off the wagon" moments (right there with ya, Kelly Jo).
THis morning I went to the gym for step aerobics. I thought the Russian **** instructor was out to kill me!!! Should have known I was in for it when all the class participants were in awesome shape, itty bitty and such. I had to stop about 5 times but I finished the class. If I get to where I can take that class all the way through, I will be soooooo IN SHAPE and soooo HAPPY! I think I'm going to go take a nap before shcool is out, I'm exhausted from that class!!

Hi all.

Rachel - I'm glad to hear your aunt and cousin are ok, but I'm so sad for them for all they've lost. I'll keep them in my thoughts. Hey 1/2 pound is nothing to sneeze at. Good for you! And way to go with making it through the step aerobics class. I think one of those would just about kill me.

I lost .06 this week. I was showing a better loss at my sneak peek on Monday, but I'll gladly take it. Now I have to do battle with myself. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm really tired, but I have to convince myself that Chinese food is not the way to go. I think I'll ask my husband to pick up some ham from the deli counter and we'll stick to sandwiches tonight.

Have a good evening.

I think I've made some personal progress: 1. I am actually reading labels.
2. I'm not obsessing about food continuely. and 3. Today, instead of getting a quick lunch from the fried food at the deli counter, I chose a peach and a sandwich (I used the mustard instead of mayo and only ate 1/2). Monday will be two weeks running. Does it continue to be more of a second nature? The way I'm feeling now, I'm thinking I may actually be able to do this as a lifestyle.

Lynne - Good for you for making the wiser choice of the sandwich and peach. Yes, it does become second nature, bit by bit. For instance, reading labels is habitual for me and even if I'm off program and not paying attention to what I eat, in general, I still calculate points in my mind and just can't bring myself to get anything that's too terribily high. I used to love, just love, Marie Callendar's pot pies. Now, when I'm in the store and I have a craving for one, I just look at the label and it cures me immediately. Just keep plugging along and soon it will feel like a lifestyle to you.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekends. My husband had to work today - their installing a new computer - so I haven't been doing much. Ana's friend from a couple of houses down has been here since 9:30 this morning and they were really starting to work my last nerve. Fortunately, they're at the friend's house now and I'm enjoying a nice cup of coffee and some peace and quiet.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
