Default My Summer With 3 Fat Chicks

This is a little of what 3FC has done for me.

I joined 3FC in July and it was one of the best things I have done. It's amazing what a wonderful support group can do for your spirits and motivation!

This is what I have gained from 3FC so far:

I have made goals and stuck to my plan to attain them

- I posted in the EOS challenge that my goal was to be at 208 lbs. Down 30 from where I started in June. I am 1 pound away from reaching that goal and it feels wonderful.

- I decided that the only way I would be successful in my weight loss was to exercise regularly. When I started to exercise first, I found it a terrible challenge to walk for 20 mins at a pace of 4.0 km/h three times per week. Now I can run for more than 20 mins at a time @ 6 km/h and I do it six times per week. Everyones advice here really helped with that. I never thought it would become easier but I kept reading that it would - and it DID!

I have a new body image now

- I have forced myself to see my body for what it really is. I needed to do this to formulate a plan of where I wanted to go. Before, I thought this might be somewhere I could find the "quick" answer to my weight loss struggle. In reading others stories, successes and struggles I have realized that nothing is quick. Everyone here has their own battles and overcomes them with determination and support. I had to put aside preconceived notions that my body would change overnight. It has changed alot, and it took alot of time. It still has to change alot and it will take more time still.

I have learned my health is the key

- I don't just want to lose weight any more. I want to be fit and healthy as well. I feel better because of it. I can do more at 209 pounds than I thought I would be able to do at 150. I sleep better, have lower blood pressure, better lung capacity and handfuls of other positives that I couldn't boast about before. It can only get better!

This is from 2 short months posting here and sharing in other successes. Surround yourself by successful people and you too will be a success. Thank you 3FC and especially everyone here at the 100 lb. Club!!!

Awww Newfie, what an awesome post! It sounds like you've truly made that mental switch from wanting to change to sustaining those changes for life. Congratulations Newfie and thank you for sharing.

I can't stop smiling!! What a wonderful post! Together we have power!!! When I feel weak I know there is someone strong and I hold out my hand and they lift me up to keep moving. Encouraging my every step and catching me when I fall back. That is how I feel about 3FCs!
