I am only on this program since Saturday. Got the first complimentary box of bars today. Since they are very expensive does anyone know what other bar I can purchase in the stores that are about the same as LAWL.
Luna bars are the most popular substitute - they are about the same calories and protien. You can usually find them on sale at Target or Wal-Mart, some people on here have had success buying them from Amazon.com or on Ebay.
Just don't tell them. Remember that they are sales people who work on commision. They will find a BS reason to talk you out of the Lunas. Just tell them you got the LA Lites from a friend who ordered too many or off E-bay or some other story.
Dotti - wanted to add here - if you don't buy the lites, they will move you to a higher plan. If you want to do the lites/lunas/ do what Julie_sd suggests. . .
Mary I stopped at the A & P today after I left LAWL and picked up the cherry covered chocolate, s'mores, chocolate pecan pie and a few other chocolate ones they had.
Julie I did as you suggested and told them I'm getting the bars from a friend who is overstocked. They didn't say much just ok.
By the way, down 5 pounds since I started on Saturday. Yipee!
I'm not on LAWL, but I just wanted to say e-bay is a great place to get stuff at discounts. I'm on Atkins and the Advantage bars are SO expensive - they can cost over $2 a bar - easily! But doing some shopping around on e-bay I can get them for about $1 a bar. So what if they are expired (they are meal bars; they are good for LONG past the expiration date), and slightly melted (they still taste the same). Anyway, for a savings like that it's worth it. So, yeah, check e-bay. I recently bought well over 100 bars on there in my 3 favorite flavors. I'm good to go for a long time, lol!
gotta weigh in here for lunas...Wal mart and target sell them for 97 cents each here (and that is the standard price)
there is one flavor that I don't see listed around here...the flavor that is my all time favorite is Dulce de Lece (that is a Mexican flavor--is it caramel, really). And it totally ROCKS. My next favorites are: nuts over chocolate (aka chocolate and peanut butter) and then the lemon zest (although key Lime is pretty good, too).
Also one to look for if you like chocolate/mint, is the peppermint chocolate bar...it is really good...

I only paid for half of my lites and I got a good deal i guess...$6 each box so it's less that $1 for each. But I have saw them on e-bay and thought I would finish off maintenance that way, but wasn't sure if they would let it count.
So my new plan is to buy some from e-bay now and say I got them from a friend who quit (which is partly true, becuase she gave me a few, but I'm piccky and only like lemon)
Yes, this still within the agreement, I believe the agreement only said you have to eat two a day, it didn't specify where you got them. Take a look at your contract to verify it though...and wow....$6 a box, that's a great deal!
i told them that i was getting them from a friend as well, and i have bought the bars on ebay. got a good deal, i might try those luna bars though, as a quick sub if i run out or don't have a bar with me. i actually like the LAWL bars they are actually not too bad, but costly. the hubby doesn't like that so much.
