28 tornados went through Wisconsin Thursday evening...over 380 homes were destroyed, one man died when his chimney collapsed on him while trying to get in the basement. Governor Doyle has declared parts of Vernon, Dane and Crawford counties in a state of emergency.

When the conditions seems right for a tornado or you hear the sirens, go to the basement or take other shelter immediately- don't think it won't happen to you...it can!

One tornado went right over my home, we have destruction 1 mile north of us and 3 miles west of our home...I thought it was just a great rain/wind storm, now I know how lucky I am...the mess is very alarming- you just can't imagine how a few moments can change lives.

Amen! We went through this here in Illinois last year. A tornado went right over our home... but took out an entire town just south west of my town!!! It is so destructive. I suffer from panic attacks when storms come my way. These storms can be so frightning. You never know what you have etc. till something like this happens. It totally changes everything!

I live in Wisconsin and yes it is so important to know what to do ahead of time in case dangerous weather does arrive. keep blankets, battery radio , bottled water ready at all times.
