Default paper and pen counting

Does anyone have a good paper and pen journal guideline that makes tracking easier???? I have checked out fitday, but I am not always at the computer, and would like to have a journal of some sort that I can write down the food in as I am getting ready to eat it, so I can SEE the number of calories and not after the fact and realize I have eaten too much!

I personally just use a small notebook or journal-not Fitday or anything online. I travel to dance workshops and we have a camper on a lake that we frequent-so when I am at these places I do not have computer access. Fitday does no good for me when I am out in the boonies.

You can use a small notebook, or you can buy a blank hardcover journal. Actually, the Dollar General store has them and they are cheap.

I use a pretty spiral-bound journal. After you rack up a few pages of successful journaling, you feel like you've accomplished something.

I have to have things neat, so I use a new notebook (mines MLP, hehe) and I write the date at the top and then list the foods in the order that I ate them, how many of them I had, and how many calories. Then under that list I total everything up. At first it looks kind of sloppy, but like tbj said, once you have racked up a few pages it just seems like the perfect food journal.

i was actually a walgreens today (kinda like cvs, erm, pharmacy/general store)...and they have an electronic calorie tracker!!! It looked kinda like a palm/hanheld computer...but specifically for tracking your eating. Personally, I keep count in my head....but thats cause i havent started working yet...so basically thats all i do all day. Im sure ill have to start writing it down hehe.

i use a small notebook i keep in my purse so i can write down my calories whenever it's convenient. i personally like this better than computer tracking because it's faster, and also because i have something tangible that proves i have accomplished something. i use a different page for each day, separate meals into sections, and write down calorie totals, and exercise summary, and weight. i like having a notebook of all of my tracking for over two months. it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy .
