Couple of questions re: foods for Phase 1

  • Howdy...I apologize in advance for the "newbie" questions, but here goes:

    Are avocados ok on phase 1? If I limit it to 1/3 of an avocado per day? I see that's what is on the list for Phase 1 foods that is posted on this site, but it makes no mention of it in my book (that I can find, anyway). And, while I'm on the subject of things in the fat/oils catagory...is it limited to one of those per day? Like if I have my 1/3 avocado, can I still have fat from salad dressing, for example.

    Another thing listed on the list here but not in my book is SF treats like SF fudgesicles. So far I've had 1 SF fudgesicle (for 40 calories).

    I could see how both those items are something that could cause trouble if not limited, but I'd sure love one fudgesicle per day!

    Thanks in advance - again sorry if this info. is posted somewhere that should be obvious to me. I'm making my way through the book and all the info here...but I have 2 very small children so my attention span is limited.
  • sf fuge pops are ok as long as it counts as your dessert and doesnt go over 75 cals a day!
  • Avocados are fine when limited to 1/3 a day - even in phase 1. You can still have your salad dressing.

    Kim already gave you the right answer on the fudgepops. They should be the no sugar added ones (since the milk contains lactose which is sugar but it perfectly fine).
  • Remember that the food lists in the book have been revised so be sure to use the revised list in the FAQ section.
