Default Monday On The Beach - August 1

Hey! A new month! I can't believe July is over. August is here with that fall feeling in the mornings. Soon it'll be time for my chenille robe when we have coffee on the deck with The Girls.

Gail comes today for what may be her last cleaning day as she has another job, alas! I will really miss her and hope to not lose touch. She will thoroughly vacuum H's room hereafter known as the guest room and I hope to get it painted this week. It's a small room but I'm seriously considering doing it a deep colour - cranberry or pine - with lots of white. It'll definitely be a two-coat job if I do that - maybe three if I have to base coat. Hmmm- I may see if our local painter guy can do it. The rug comes up AFTER the painting!

So what have you got planned for this glorious August 1 - a holiday in Canada in most places? It's called Civic Holiday, Bank Holiday, Heritage Day, Simcoe Day and is really just an excuse for another summer long weekend!

Morning Ruthie!

Anchor The guy sounds neat. I hope he calls!

My plans?? Back to work! Today starts a week of teacher inservice and prep. I had a meltodown yesterday over Baby Meg starting daycare, but feel a bit better today. We shall see.... all of her stuff is ready and sitting at the door.

Today starts Day 3 of Phase 1 for me. Other than way too many almonds yesterday, I am diong great! I made double last night's dinner, so dinner tonight is ready and waiting for me. Today's breakfast is consumed, lunch and snacks are packed. I was a bit exhausted yesterday as I remember being before, but am not sure if it is the "detox" or getting up at night with my Sweet Love.

Got a sassy new haircut over the weekend with highlights. I must say it looks good! DH loves it and keeps complimenting me, which is a good ego booster.

Have a super Monday, I will check in from work on one of our breaks today.

Mornin' chicks!! Yesterday was bad for me! I've been doing good lately but I ate too much (this happened once last week too ). I tried for my first time to make pizza from scratch and it worked so I ate! I used 1/2 WW flour and 1/2 of a lc bake mix (no frankenfoods in this brand, just wheat gluten, oat and wheat brans & germs) for the crust. I halved a recipe that made 4-6 servings and ate the whole thing. I topped it with spinach, mozzarella, and tomatoes! I know the food was healthy but it was too much! Then I ate a ricotta creme dessert with sf choc chips . So today will be a P1 day with fruit...I guess that's P1.5! Hope everyone does better today than I did yesterday!

Ruth: Your deck always sounds so nice! Wish me and my girl could join you and your girls! Your description of where you live, in the woods with the wolves, sounds like heaven!

Kiko:Congrats on the haircut! Don't you love it when you just know how fine you look?

Good morning, Chicklets~~

It's Monday, but I didn't get slammed as I'd feared. But I'm not letting my guard down just yet. Still have 4 days to go before the week is over.

Ruth, sounds like you've got a lot on the ball these days. I love deep toned rooms, in theory, but they never work out for me, always turn out too dark and I need lots and lots of light in my house. You'll have to post a pic and let us see how it turns out.

Kiko, sorry you have to go back to work and leave your Meg. Too bad there isn't a way to keep her with you. No way to convince your principal she's the new TA, huh?

Gofishin, Decaf, sweetie, DECAF!!

Other than scratch my mosquito bites and watch a program about the Titanic on Discovery, I did very little yesterday. I feel like it was a very successful day!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day on the Beach!

Weighed in at 1+ pound this AM, *sigh*. Totally deserved it -- with the way I have been eating.

Gotta jet and get to work

Morning everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Ruth- I thought about you this weekend..I watched the AKC Dog show & the porti got 3rd in her group!! No Great Danes showed up...weird!

Anyway, I went to a "natural"food store this weekend. I was totally lost & confused. I guess I really no nothing about what is good for you.. All of this stuff was saying gluten free, wheat free (I thought wheat was good) (and what the he** is gluten)? I bought almond butter and some wheat melba toast..that is about it.

I watched that show on FITv about SB. It was really for someone who new nothing about the diet. So, I did not get much from it.

So, I got on the scale & I am down 1 lb. Good way to start the month. Now I just need to keep it up. My mother is coming in town this weekend for my birthday (shhh don't tell anyone)....So I will have to work hard to stay OP.

Well I will check back in a bit!!

Good Morning All,

Hope everyone had a great weeekend. Mine was OK. Ate too much yesterday - but that's OK. Will pick myself up and brush myself off and charge into today!

Ruth ~ Since the room is small - Maybe if you put a chair rail (wainscott) in - kinda high up on the wall - to break the room up a bit - the darker color would be OK. Do the trim in white or cream and the ceiling in white or cream.?? I wish I had time to re-do my house. Mine is all white too Mama. White and PLASTER no less!! BORING!!!

Kiko ~ Chin up sweetie!! I will feel your pain next year when mine starts Kindergarten. She already talks about school all the time. Why can't they just stay little a while longer??

Pearshape, Kim, Jen, Jenne ~ Goodmornin'

GoFishin~ WHOAAAAAAA - Boy are you Hyper!!!!!!! - I'm with Mama - DECAF Hon!!!

Wow - August already - hope it ain't as hot as July was.

Well, gotta go - I 'll check back in later.

Everyone have a great day

Good morning, everyone! I always weigh more on Mondays so I wasn't surprised my weight was up this morning. Oh, well, August is a new month.

If everyone could get their exercise logged today, I'd appreciate it so I can announce the Exercise Queen. Thanks!

Afternoon chicks. It is raining here with threats of thunder showers. I am still in my jammies.....and feeling a little lazy. Today is the start for me. I really need to get my butt back on track. We redid the bathroom this week end. DH painted it a very pretty pale green. And I bought a new shower curtin and curtin in white and the shower liner and bathmat in green. It looks rather pretty. Other than that not much is going on.

Ruth- you are alway such a busy woman. I love dark colored rooms but dh who is a former painter will not do dark colors.

Kiko- sorry to hear that you have to go back to work. My youngest is a meg as well.

jenne1017- I can't believe it is Aug either. July went by way to fast.

soon- sounds like you had a great time with your friend and her family.

Beach- hope you are feeling better soon.

Good afternoon to the rest of you chicks.
