Question water retention

OK-- so I finally reached the point that I feel achy and stiff if I DON'T exercise -- I am drinking all the water I am supposed too, also a first for me -- I finally quit loading up on the sugar stuff and a lot of other "bad" carbs -- and it is all coming together. But now summer has hit and I have a problem I have never had before. I have been retaining water -- usually around 5 pounds worth -- but I also notice that the other stuff doesn't want to come off now, either, so I am hovering around the same weight.

Any ideas??

You are gonna hate my answer but drink even more water. As the temperature increases and you exercise more you need even more water or your body will hang onto what you currently drink. I read somewhere that everyone should drink eight 8 oz glasses of water a day but for each 25 pounds overweight you are you need an additional 8 oz. Just my 2 cents.

I have the same problem. We recently moved here and I swell so bad when I am outside allot. When I get a chance to sit for alittle bit I lean on my left side and drink a few bottles of water. When I was pregnant with both my children the doctors told me to lay on my left side to get the swelling and blood pressure to go down. It still works for me. I agree with the water drinking. I get teased about how much water I drink. I did read an article that says the more you weigh the more you drink. Keep up the good work.

I agree with previous poster that drinking water is essential.....and may i add that cutting on salt will help you. Salt is know to retain water

Green tea is also know to have diuretic properties....
