Default Nut servings per day

I’ve always kept a food diary and am noticing that on several days I have not taken in enough calories. I know that not taking in enough can hinder the weight loss process as well. My question is this, can I have an extra serving of nuts as long as I’m not going over calories, fat, sat. fat & sugars in one day (I keep track of all these)? I’m assuming the reason behind the 1 limit per day is because most people would over indulge. However, since I’m technically under indulging, I guess it would be alright?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

I've wondered about this as well, since I am a vegetarian and am not eating meat, and I tend not to take in enough as well. I would think it would be okay, esp. if you had different kinds (i.e. soynuts and peanut butter) for your two servings. I'm no expert, though!

I would think it would be ok too, but I have heard just to watch the portion bc nuts can stall weight loss. I love them too so my goal this week is to have only what I am allowed!!

Same here. And no peanut butter for a while, until I stop craving it like a ravenous beast, at least! (hey, that rhymed.) I'll stick to soynuts instead!

I work out pretty heavily everyday, so I don't want to short change myself by not taking in enough calories. Plus, being on phase 1 and working out heavily, I need to take in something that's going to last a little longer than say S/F Jell-O. Sometimes, I split the peanut serving in half. So, on the Planters nuts I may have 15 of the 30 pieces of one recommended serving plus 2 tbsp. of natural peanut butter. I sure hope this is ok.

How about some dairy or extra LF cheese? Or slow carbs like roasted chick peas? I think it is the fat in nuts that is the problem and the reason they are limited.

I wouldn't eat more nuts than you're allowed. They're limited for a reason. There are lots of other ways to get your calories.
