Default Carb Control yogurt?

I know you're supposed to have just plain yogurt on phase 1...but do you think this would be okay? It's sweetened with Splenda.

No problemo....I think it was Ruth that answered me before, and she recommended Blue Bunny Lite 85 Vanilla for when we get off P1!

I answered but didn't recommend Blue Bunny. We can't get that here in the Great White North where the current temperature is 87ºF at the moment!

By the way, around here, carb reduced products are more expensive than the regular lower fat ones! Choose wisely and save a bundle.

I'll just have to wait for phase 2 for my vanilla yogurt craving. Another question...has anyone yet tried a vanilla "shake" with plain yogurt, vanilla, milk, etc? Wonder if it would work...

See I used the carb stuff for Phase 1 and lost. I can't find ANYTHING in my parts that doesn't have about 18g of sugar per serving!! And that's plain yogurt.

So, when the Carb Control by Dannon goes on sale, I get it and eat that...

I was the one that recommended Blue Bunny Lite 85 for phase 2 or Kroger Lite which is pretty much the same thing. Stay away from cream.

I haven't tried the shake but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I made the shake, it's pretty good. I used 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 or so Tblsp of Splenda (how much are you SUPPOSED to use I added more a couple of times because it wasn't at all sweet), and 4 or 5 ice cubes. Not nearly as good as a regular vanilla shake obviously, but hey, no ice cream here, and I'll be better off for it.

I think yogurt is a great thing to add to shakes. I add it to protein shakes made with silken tofu to cut the soy taste. Just a little and it goes a long way. I usually make my own homemade yogurt but got lazy and bought Dannon's "Light and Fit" thinking it was OK for P1 but then I looked at the ingredients and saw cornstarch and fructose. Ooops! Guess I'll save it for P2
