Default for those familiar with chicago

I'm heading out to Chicago tomorrow evening (12 hour drive) for a conference. I'm needing to get a couple of maternity outfits and would like to know if anyone has some inexpensive suggestions. Our hotel is near the millenium park and the conference is at McCormick Place. I found a motherhood store near the hotel but they don't carry the plus size at that store and they said their store at North Riverside mall does but I can't find it on the map or how far it is from the hotel and/or conference center.

TIA.

Oh and I won't be on here until probably the 18th because of lack of internet access so there won't be a need to send out the posse looking for me

I don't have any info about maternity stores in the Chicago area, but I just wanted to say Chicago's a wonderful place and I hope you get to see some of the sites while you're attending the conference. Hopefully Sandi will have some ideas for you (she lives quite near and used to work there ~ she's also a wonderful tour guide; we had the greatest time on our Chicago trip!)

Thanks for letting us know about your absence in advance so we don't get to fretting. Have a great time and good luck with the maternity shopping.

Ahhh, chicago, what a great place!!!

I think your best bet would be to consult your concierge when you get there. They are usually sooooo helpful!!!

How long will you be there??

I'll be there Sunday through Thursday. I've been there before when I was 12. We saw the Sears tower and Lake Michigan as well as visiting relatives as we went through by train to Disneyworld.

I don't know if this is coming too late, but I think the North Riverside store they are talking about is actually out in the suburbs.

I have never been pregnant, so I'm not sure what maternity options there are in Chicago, apart from the crazy-expensive Pea in the Pod store on Oak Street. But there is a really big Old Navy at State and Washington - I know they have both plus size and maternity clothes there, maybe they have plus size maternity as well? It's right across from the big State Street Marshall Fields and just a short walk from Millenium Park, maybe you could check it out.

I got my plus size maternity online through JCPenny.. they seemed to be very resonably priced.

I also vote for the Old Navy store in Chicago. Its massive!!!

Have a fun, safe trip!
