Question Black Bean Soup (Crock Pot)

Has anyone tried freezing the Black Bean Soup (crock pot) recipe? I made it this week and it just makes so much of it I would like to freeze it but wasn't sure how it would freeze.

I'm not sure if I have made that particular recipe but I have frozen many soups including bean soups and they do freeze well. I eat leftovers for lunch at work every day and they are great. The Broccoli Cheese soup freezes really well.

Default Black Bean Soup? Perfect!

Hey! Where could I find said Black Bean Soup recipe? I have some black beans that need to be used, but now that I'm not making all that high-cal mexican food I don't know what to do with them! Thanks!

Look in Soups and Stews - Phase II in the recipe section. If you are on Phase I, just leave out any ingredients not on the OK list.

Oh, yes. I'm sure it would freeze well. I always freeze chilis, etc.

The crock pot black bean soup is made with dry black beans and takes 20-24 hours in the crock pot (mine was done in about 21 hrs). There is another black bean soup recipe that is made with canned black beans. They are both listed as Phase 1 items. I have posted the link to both of these below.

Thanks to all for the info on freezing this. We really enjoyed it but it is just to much to eat before it would spoil without freezing some of it. It should make some really good lunches.
