Ok, suffice to say I am scared to death to get this perm to begin with. I am probably just looking for reasons to get out of it BUT your honest answer is appreciated. I have stick straight hair and my 55lb reward (even though I am one pund away) was to get a perm. Or a body wave rather.
I want the hair that Nicole Kidman has in Bewitched. Or Bonnie Hunt had in Cheaper By The Dozen. That straight on top then big curls. My hairdresser says thats a body wave and lots of curling iron time with the big curls.
I have not had a perm since I can remember and I am scared to death but I really want a change. Well, that time of the month came yesterday and I remember when you are pregnant they say not to perm. Not only for the health factor but because hormones are askew. I am wondering if this holds true for that time of the month too? Anyone?
Someone please talk me into this! Or out of it if you really think I will regret it haha! I'm scheduled to go tomorrow.
Thanks!
Kim
Well, I just happen to be a licensed hairdresser and I can tell you that the old myth about perming while you are on your period is a crock. Do the perm. Have your stylest wrap in larger rods (should be peach in color) in order to have the softer curls. It will be beautiful, I'm sure. Perms are hard on your hair so get a little trim afterwards and invest in a good conditioner. Have fun on your pamper day and don't worry.

ok ok... I talked to a friend tonight too. She used to do hair and she said the same thing. I am still so scared but hopefully I will come back a new woman! hehe
Thanks so much ladies!!!
