As I am getting older, I’m not going out as often as I used to. Saturday night, a local concert hall organized an evening where only 80’s music was spinning. Since I grew up to the sound of Duran Duran, The Cure, Madonna and other icons of this decade, I couldn’t resist and went.
Maybe it is due to weight loss, but I had this funny strange experience of women actually smiling at me. This is totally new to me.
Next step: I will have to kick myself in the butt and go talk to them, because you know, you’re favorite Frenchie is kind of shy....
Montreal women are, after the ones on 3FC, the most beautiful women in the world. This is a good incentive.
whats the worst they can say! and even if they turn you down i got 101 comebacks that can make them really upset should you need them which i doubt you will so the polar bear is on the prowl. well happy hunting i start my hunt in 10 weeks when i start uni
I am officially *not* on the prowl, given that I'm happily partnered, but I have to chime in to sympathize. It's very weird when you start getting attention from the opposite sex all of a sudden. I have had some times when I've asked my hubby, "Do I have something on my face or something, because that person looked at me strangely" and he'll reply, "No, Jen, that was just a guy checking you out!" It's very odd to me.
I think this is definitely a good development! Just go with it, and like si said, don't be afraid to TALK TO THEM!!!!! I'm sure you can turn on that Quebecquois charm .
I know what you mean about not being used to attention from the opposite sex. Even while I was under 200 lbs during high school when boys would flirt with me, I thought they were doing it to make fun of me and didn't think they could really find me attractive. Turned a boy (cute one too!) down for a date because of the above reason. Later one of his friends asked me why I said no and I told him I didn't think he was serious when he asked me.
So Frenchiepolarbear, the moral to this story is: GO FOR IT! I for one, am very sure you are a hottie and don't even know it. Plus the fact you are bilingual is very alluring to this American who only speaks one language fluently. There's a very lucky lady out there just for you, but you'll never meet here is you don't start saying "hi"
Good Luck!
The first time a cute guy gave me googly-eyes across a bar, it took a good 30 minutes for me to be sure he was making googly-eyes at ME, and then I was only truly convinced when he finally came over and struck up a conversation. I'm still sort of amazed, and that was 8 months ago! *giggle*
