Smile Its Thursday

Its another day. I have to say that I am feeling much better today than I was last night when I joined 3fatchicks. I feel like there is some hope now. I have done so good on my eating today. Last night I got rid of all the carbs in my house (my GREATEST weakness) except for my whole wheat pasta and my rice cakes. I am really feeling encouraged today. I was so glad to see the welcomes from some of you. I really think I'm going to like it here. So does anyone have tips of any sort to share about your weight loss success? Be blessed!

Congrats on taking those first few important steps towards better health and body. I still have a looong way to go, but I have two things that have helped me immensely: cutting out cokes and fast food.

I gave up soda as a new year's resolution in 2004 and I don't miss 'em a bit. I was capable of drinking a 2 liter (or more) of Dr. Pepper a day. I also cut out flavored coffee and fruit juices. The first 2 weeks without caffeine were miserable but now I can't even imagine drinking more than a 12oz can and even that is too much sugar. So I think that it really helps to reduce sugar cravings so now a small bit of chocolate is all that I need/want and maybe a "normal" slice of cake instead of 2 or 3 huge pieces (with all the extra frosting left on the cake plate). mmmm cake

Fast food got phased out starting at the beginning of this year. Its just me and DH and we stay pretty busy but we eat at home more and when we go out to eat, we try to pick the ones with a known lo-cal menu or that have a really diverse salad bar. Now every once and again I eat fast food. But now I generally get like 1 bean burrito or one Jr. bacon cheeseburger and not a meal. This has helped be kick the cravings for all the fried and greasy goodies that temp us.

Well enough rambling about me...if you have already quit the soda and fast food---good for you if not, it is something that should def. help.

I wish you the best of luck in this journey, I know you can do it!!
