Have any of you used the Tae-Bo tapes? I purchased them over a year ago and they have been collecting dust. I just found out yesterday that my ten-year high school reunion is in September! OMG!!! I am the FATTEST I have ever been in my life! I have three months to get gorgeous and knock them dead at the reunion! I have been fat my entire life and have been kicking around the idea of finally doing something about it. I popped in the Tae-Bo Basic tape today and man do I feel great! The website has some really great testimonials on it too. I was just wondering if any of you have tried these tapes or if they worked (or are working) for you. Is vanity my true great motivator or what? hehehehe
Hi there! I am glad you asked about tae-bo tapes. I have had them forever as well, but this past May 1st I decided not to just use them every once in a while, but to use them on a regular basis. I made a goal to do the tae-bo basic video at least 5 days/week during the month of May and ended up meeting and surpassing that goal. During that time I lost 1.5 inches on my bust, 2 inches on my waist, and 4 inches on my hips/butt, 1.5 on thighs (each), and 1 inch on each bicep. I am totally addicted to tae-bo! I have now, as of June 1st began a new goal of doing the tae-bo advanced video at least 5 days/week throughout June. I thought I was ready for the advanced, but it is really kicking my butt, and I am so sore!
I think if you are wanting to lose inches and increase your fitness levels and feel good about exercising, then tae-bo is that exercise for you! Don't be discouraged if you don't see any loss of pounds at first, because you will see inch loss first and then the pounds will start to come off...although I only rely on measuring now, not weighing.
Thanks Lindsay! That is great! In only a month you've really lost a lot of inches! Too cool! I hope I can follow your lead! The tape was really fun to do and it didn't totally kill me like I thought it would, even though I really wasn't kicking quite as high or moving as fast as the people on the tape. hehehehe Thanks for the info and I plan on sticking to it!!
I am glad to hear that you like the videos so far! I know you can do it too, just take it one day at a time. I know now if I miss a day I feel like a total couch potato and look forward to kicking every day! Don't worry you will soon be kicking higher and faster than everyone on the tape. I know when I let my boyfriend watch me do it, he was like "wow, you had 5 more kicks than they did!", and I didn't even realize it because I was just so in the tae-bo zone!!!
Like most people, my tae bo videaos were collecting dust. On the 29th of May I brought mine out of mothballs and boy do I love doing it. I have missed 3 days but am now committed to keeping score on a calendar. I put a happy face every day I do it. It helps to keep me on track. I am only do the basic tape so far, but I want to make sure I get the full 30 min. in.
I haven't noticed any weight loss or that my clothes feel looser, but I do feel better. I feel a little more toned. I took a pic of me today with the dig. cam. as proof of where I'm coming from. When I found this site I was hoping to find someone to keep me motivated doing this. I spent a good portion of the day looking for testimonials on tae bo. I was very grateful to hear about the inch loss vs weight loss. I will have to start measuring.
I just started doing Tae-bo every other day a week ago. I have sooo much energy on the days I do it that I think I'm gonna switch to everyday. I could really use the charge with 3 kids under 5 to take care of!
Yup, yup....Your tapes were collecting dust...mine were still in the darned wrappers!
I like the basic tape and the 8-minute workout. I do them twice a week. On the other days, I walk or ride my bike. I'm thinking of doing more Tae Bo after reading about those results.
This question is for those of you who are really having luck with Taebo. Do you think I can reach my goals doing only the basic workout and the 8 minute? I have two different versions of each. I don't feel I'm ready for the Advanced yet. I want to get a little more coordinated, but I want to drop a lot of inches, soon. What do you think?
Hello! I just wanted to jump in and tell all of you how wonderful I think it is that you are doing Tae-Bo. When I first started my weight loss journey it was a big help to me. Starting an exercise program is that hardest thing to do. You really have to find something you love, and will keep you coming back for more. For me it was Tae-Bo. I, like some of you started out doing it everyday. I read somewhee that it takes 21 days to make or brake a habit and a habit out of Tae-Bo I set out to make.
Now seven months later I am still exercising and am so proud of myself just like all of you will be, if you are not already. Making exercise a habit is the best thing that you can do for your self. During my six months of being a die hard Tae-boer I lost 65lbs and 9 inches off my hips alone. I am not saying that Tae-Bo alone is magic but it coupled with a good eating program will only bring you succsess.
I am currently not doing Tae-Bo as often as I used to, but I still am continuing to be an almost everyday exerciser. After doing Tae-Bo for that long I decided to venture other avenues of exercise, and I have since started to alternate it with running. It has been a goal of mine my whole life to be able to run more that a few feet without feeling like I am going to fall over. I have always wanted to run and now I can. Without reaping the benifits of Tae-Bo this would have never been possible for me. I am very thankful for the way if has transformed my body and the habits it has helped me to make. I hope this helps some of you and answers some of your questions. Take care and good luck
I got the Tae-Bo Basic tape in January and have been pretty faithful about doing it M, W, F. On T and Th I do weight lifting a la Strong Women Stay Young. My diet is low carb and am feeling better than I have in years.
I never measured when I began so I don't know how many inches I have lost, but from the fit of my clothes, I know there is a significant loss.
I made a big mistake of watching myself in a mirror today! Grace is not my middle name! But this has not discouraged me. I will just cover the mirror from now on!
