Question Own a Tanita Innerscan Scale?

Hello everybody!

I am in the market for a scale that will tell me my body fat % in addition to weight. I came across the name of the Tanita scales in the past, but they also seem to have a new line recently:

http://www.tanita.com/InnerscanScales.shtml#

Blurb from their site:
Our revolutionary new InnerScan line provides information never before available from a consumer scale. Anyone who is serious about improving his or her total health and fitness will love InnerScan. The monitors use Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) to monitor multiple components of overall health. The results are analyzed along with gender, age, height and weight for the most accurate and comprehensive at-home reading ever available. Measurements include Weight, Body Fat %, Body Water %, Daily Caloric Intake, Metabolic Age, Bone Mass, Muscle Mass, Physique Rating, and Visceral Fat Rating.

Does anyone out there in WW-land own one of these gizmos?

I tremble to imagine what my "visceral fat" level is! Though it would be neat to be able to step on the scale and see the numbers for fat/muscle/water gain. I get freaked out sometimes by what I hope is water gain; would be reassuring to KNOW it is water not more pudge.

Thanks!

Walmart carries scales that measure body fat as well. Not sure of the brand, but you could look online.

Talking Scale on its way... Review to follow!

I ended up ordering one of these from Amazon - the "Tanita BC533 Glass Innerscan Body Composition Monitor" Should be delivered by next Thursday...

It has two 5-star reviews at the moment. I will post my own review here

I have read on Epinions about the Tanita scales, in general, sometimes working perfectly for some people and not for others... We shall see! Depends on your body type I guess, or if the buyer gets a fluky scale. Well, I've read that the weight readout is usually right on, but the body fat results can be all over the place sometimes (not with this model though... no data on it yet there.)

If it's totally off base, then I'll just take advantage of that cool 30-day refund policy of Amazon's

I just had to get a new scale. My old Health-O-Meter was telling me within the span of a few minutes that I gained or lost 1-3 pounds. Depended on its mood I guess! And if I stood just a bit back on it, with my toes 1" further from the top, I could "lose" 8 pounds. Hmmm. I WISH!

It'll be neat though to be able to see if I gained muscle or fat or just water. I want to focus on gaining muscle, and be able to see that increase regularly... Me and my rowing machine are going to become veeery close buddies. :

Hi, that scale looks so cool I have one that just does body fat% not all of the other stuff its like this one http://www.tanita.com/UltimateScales.shtml
It is very accurate though. It went on the fritz once when it needed new batteries other than that I don't have the gaining 5# in five minutes problem like I had withmy other digital one.
let us know how yours is when you get it.
