Ok girls just wanted to share this with you all! I had to go to the Dr. today- I know, I know it's a saturday but regardless one of the things that I needed to address was refills for my blood pressure medicine. I've been out for about a month which would of been a huge No No, but when she took my bp I was at 120/74!!!! I don't have to get back on the med. if I can keep it under control I was sooo excited, might seem silly but I really didn't want to be 25 and on bp medicine for the rest of my life. So, that is my nsv for the week! Anyone else got any?!?!?! Let's hear them!
Congratulations!! That is a major accomplishment, it isn't silly to be proud to have gotten off the medication. It's a huge step in the right direction, as medication is fine when there are no other options, but it is always healthiest to keep it simple and find natural ways to accomplish those goals, and weight loss is definitley the best and most natural way to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level. Well done, that's awesome!
Well, my news for the week is that I'm graduating a week from today!! I am so excited. And I have family flying in for my graduation party whom I have not seen since I was 7 or 8, so I want to look really good. I bought a gorgeous blue summer dress with little sequins on it to wear for the party, I'm also wearing it tomorrow for my boyfriend's graduation party, so yeah, this week is an exciting one for me!
Let's just hope I can be reasonable with my eating tomorrow at this party.. one little piece of cake, no more! Hehe.
Oh, and one question for anyone who can answer it... I really want to wear this dress tomorrow, but I have bruises on my legs because I went jetskiing yesterday and I bruise really, really easily. They're not really that bad, especially since I have a nice tan, (and I just deepend it with a little sunless tanner to try and cover them), but if anyone has some last minute tips for covering them up, please let me know! Thanks!
I had an amazing victory yesterday . . . I went into Victoria's Secret, and discovered that I can fit into a 36D bra!! I have been wearing 36DD, and before I started losing it was getting too small, but I haven't been in a D since JUNIOR HIGH. I am SOOOOOO excited! Finally I will be able to shop for "normal" bras! And now I know that once I lose the rest of this weight, I will be able to find a bikini that fits!
Wooo hooo! You all have some great nsv I think my nsv would be that I have been drinking enough water for a couple weeks now....that's a big one for me
This weekend I was loading pictures from my camera on to the computer and spent some time organizing all my pictures into files so I can find things more easily. I looked at a few pictures from 3 years ago, when I know I was about 5 pounds lighter than I am now. Despite the few extra pounds, my face is thinner now than it was then. I know I can run farther and lift more weight than I used to, but I didn't realize that I actually look better.
I'm thinking about getting my body fat tested at the gym to figure out what my goal weight really should be because I seem to have built more muscle over the past few years of consistently working out.
My latest NSV was the look on my mom's face when I went home to see my parents over Memorial Day weekend. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so they haven't seen any of this weight loss (although they saw about the same loss about 2 years ago, only to watch me gain it all back). The smile when she complimented me meant the world to me.
My NSVs:
1) Since I've been more active the past several weeks, I've noticed I'm not tired all the time like I used to be.
2) My pants are getting noticably looser!
I'm new here but I've been on the South Beach Diet and going to the gym for three weeks strong now. My nsv is that I wake up in the morning not feeling stiff, my hands don't swell up over night, I'm not tired all the time, the pain in my left foot has gone away. I just feel sooooo much better.
Congratulations to all you ladies that see the little victories that keep us going day to day.
congrats to all of you. Its very encouraging to hear about all these NSVs. I have found that these are sometimes the ones that sneak up on you and are more pleasant just for the surprise.
Sunseeker-I think no more BP meds is awesome! Both my parents are on BP meds, and my aunt died from a heart attack at age 49. All b/c of weight. It is a major health problem I am trying to avoid so I can really appreciate what a big deal it is. Enjoy!
