Question speaking of beaches . . . . .

Anyone ever been to Sanibel Island, Florida? Any recommendations on hotels? We're going in October after we go to Disney.

Thanks,
Erin

Been there but spent the whole time on a sailboat. Sorry!

Ruth has led quite the exotic life, don't you think?

MnA, I actually have never been to Florida! <gasp> Around here, that's like saying you've never used a toilet. I keep telling people that if you lived in CA, you didn't visit Florida.

Sorry!

Wish I had some advice, but I've never been to Sanibel Island.

But all this Florida talk has me longing for the beach now! Going to St. Augustine in July, but that is SOOOO long off... or so it seems right now.

Hope you find a good place and have lots of fun!

Thanks!

October is so far away too but we're looking forward to it and counting down.

Where in Upstate NY do you live? I live south of Syracuse about 30 minutes.

I've been there, but also don't remember any hotels. I was 12, my family went to Florida, rented a car and drove all around. It's a very beautiful place, far far away from the winters we had in Winnipeg! Have fun, even though it's not for a while

I googled it and there seems to be a variety. Check this out. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g3...da-Hotels.html

Hey, MnA, I live about an hour south of Ithaca. AdiaFaith lives about an hour west of me, and works in my town, though that's changing. Maybe we can have some kind of Upstate NY meet up one day!

Speaking of Upstate NY, doesn't Racheal Ray live up there? She is my idol! I have her knife, and one heck of a cut from it yesterday! Te he!

Thanks Ruth. I'll check it out.

Beachgal, that would be fun! I'm about 45 minutes from Ithaca.

I was on Sanibel for a day trip once. It's a beautiful place. The islands down there got hit pretty hard last hurricane season, so where ever you stay, be sure all the facilities are available, (pool, beaches etc.) There's a pretty cool wildlife refuge there you shouldn't miss if you can help it.

I didn't know Rachael Ray lived up here...but "upstate NY" is basically the entire state except for NY city. The city-dwellers have some serious 'tude.

Louise are you okay? I hope the cut heals quickly!

There I was thinking upstate was Watertown! I can be in Syracuse in under 3 hours so let me know when you plan a "meet".
