Default Diet Question...

I am going to Las Vegas in June, and I would like to lose between 10-15lbs before then. Is there a diet out there that can help me. I am working on changing my eating habits and exercising, so I think those two things will help. But I was just wondering if anyone had any other healthy suggestions.

Thank You!

The healthiest...in my humble opinion...is Sugar Busters. Basically on this plan...you should read the book first, of course...I eat a protien and at least two fruits and/or veggies at every meal. I cannot have any white enriched flour, no white rice and no white potatoes. I can have sweet potatoes, which I mash and put in the potato spot on my plate. Or sometimes I have a couple slices of cantaloupe in that spot. But I can have bread, but strictly only whole wheat bread. You have to read the ingredients and if the word enriched comes up, it's illegal! I get my bread at the bakery in my grocery store and get things like sourdough and seven grain bread. Remember, that just because the package says 'wheat bread' doesn't mean it's not enriched wheat and that's out, too....also, bread is limited to maybe three slices a day. I can also have whole wheat pasta. I can also have any dairy as long as it's not chocolate milk or anything ending with the word 'ose'. Oh, and obviously, I can't have sugar, hence the name Sugar Busters. A daily meal plan may look like this

BF: three sausage links, four strawberries and half a grapefruit...coffee with splenda and half and half

Lunch: 2 ham rolls (a slice of ham with swiss cheese and then rolled up like on a deli tray), grapes and two slices of cantaloupe

Dinner: Grilled Tilapia (fish) seasoned with lemon, garlic and rosemary leaves...salad with romaine, iceburg, red peppers, cukes, sweet onions and olives, topped with a low carb salad dressing (this isn't a low carb diet, but low carb usually equals low sugar and is a good place to get a quick legal pick) and a glass of milk

Snacks will usually include triscuits (all whole wheat!) and cheese or a smoothie (frozen blueberries, an orange and a half cup of plain yogurt, sweetened with some vanilla and splenda...VERY good)

I also have to drink about 75 oz of water and take my vitamins...and walk about a mile or two a day...weather permitting!!

Weight loss...the reason I recommended it to you is that almost everyone that has started this diet out looses about 5-10 pounds right off the top. Then a plateau and then another drop. I've lost about 17 lbs since November, but I haven't been exactly true to the plan, either...you should have seen me pig out around Christmas!! But this is a great plan and a great way of eating for life!! Very healthy!! And even if you aren't loosing like crazy, you'll feel great because of how natually healthy you are eating. You can swing by the Sugar Busters Weekly Support Board and lurk or join us if you want to!! We'd love to have you!!
