Default over the counter safe diet pills

Does that sound like too much to ask?

I don't know much about diet pills, and don't know wether they have to be perscribed... I know most of them have side effects, and are probably not cheap...

I have never dared ask for them at a pharmacy.

They probably don't help that much anyway, right?

So... could someone fill me in? I've read a few of the posts here on weight loss drugs... And decided it would be quicker to just ask.

many of the OTC diet pills are mostly caffeine and slight laxative-type product. Yes, they are expensive and pretty much worthless.

If you want something to help you in the weight-loss, the best information will come from your doctor. Speak to him/her honestly and they will guide you as to the best drug for your body, depending on your physical state, (BP, heart-health, thyroid, etc)....you shouldn't fool around with a self-prescription or buy over the internet, you don't know what you are getting and nothing is regulated.

Nothing is a magic pill......(don't I wish!) you still have to eat right and exercise.

good luck!

Great advice, marbleflys

The OTC diet pills don't have to work, the claims on the bottle don't have to be proven. They are not regulated by the government or any medical establishment. They play on our hopes, dreams, and even our fears, and put a price tag on them. A lot of people get very sick from them, too. But they don't care, because it's a big business and there is a lot of money to be made.

If it were as easy as taking a pill, none of us would have ever had a weight problem. Everyone would be thin.

The only true weight to a healthy weight is through a balanced diet and fitness program.

I thought so... Doctors say I shouldn't lose weight until I have finished growing.

If you're young and still developing physically, you need to pay particular attention to proper NUTRITION......a good diet rich in calcium, anti-oxidant veggies and lean proteins will do wonders for you both mentally and physically. lay off large quantities of starch and sugar, try new foods.

Combine it with some FUN exercise, and supervised weight training (I say that because I think there are recommendations for wt. amounts depending on your age) and you'll have a beautiful body.

And FYI, in the united states, they are not supposed to sell diet pills to minors anyway.

good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

I'm not in the united states. Thanks for the reccoendations. I was in the supermarket today looking for low calorie stuff and in the diet section there was this tub of "Beer ferment tablets". What are they? I had extra money on me and they were cheap so I bought them (there was only one jar left. The company name was Diet. They also made low calorie smoothies and things like that. It says to take 2 or three tablets a day.
So if anyone knows anything about these??

I've never heard of them, and I can't find anything in Google. Does it list the ingredients? I'm guessing it might be what is labeled here as "brewer's yeast". It's a by-product of the beer making process. It comes in tablets and is sold with other health food supplements. Brewers yeast is a natural source of some B vitamins. It shouldn't be harmful, though some people say it gives them gas

Brewers yeast stinks, so I'll bet that's what it is. B vitamins are good for lots of things!

From PDR Health..
The B vitamins build red blood cells, guide body metabolism, maintain the protective covering of the nervous system, and boost the body's use of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

If you are interested in learning more about what various vitamins do, this page http://www.pdrhealth.com/content/nut...s/fgnt02.shtml has a lot of excellent information about individual vitamins and minerals, which ones you need, where to get them in your food, and even the dangers of taking too much of certain vitamins.

What country do you live in?

I live in Spain. We've lived here for... 7 years now. wow.. time flies...

Thanks for the link Gosh, I love this place haha. I don't think I've ever loved a message board as much as this one.Probably because this one actualy has a purpose as opposed to my other forums.
