Yup, Im another newbie. This seems like such a friendly, supportive, welcoming group... I can't wait to get to know everyone.

Background: I've been on a tight budget the past year and have been eating foods that are financially economical but not very good otherwise. I'm also sluggish and tired and have been really lax about getting exercise. I really need to break this pattern and get healthy. Hopefully being part of this forum will help me stay motivated.

Take care everyone.

wishing us all good luck

Hi, Lilith,

Losing fifty pounds is a tremendous accomplishment. Even if you aren't at your goal, you are still way better off than before. Think of all the positive changes you've made to get were you are now. It looks to me like if you just keep doing what you've been doing, you will be able to maintain that loss. But if you feel like you need to make a change in your diet or exercise plan, you've come to the right place for ideas and support.

Best of luck to you

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, everyone!

About the weight I lost: I actually lost that weight after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Once I was treated, the weight came off, but it had little to do with my actual efforts in that direction. I hadnt really put much effort into it before and I don't really feel like I deserve much credit for it. So... that is my challenge: becoming dedicated to eating better, and just healthy living in general. Because I don't have thyroid medicine picking up the slack for me this time.

Reading the posts here, and all of the various links, does make me feel really encouraged that I can succeed at this. So, I'll be around a lot : )

See you in print, everyone : )
