I'm a short, round, 41 year old stay-at-home-mom who needs to lose a whole lot of weight. I really hate to say the exact number I am hitting the scales at right now

but, let's just say, I need to lose about 150 pounds. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember (meaning I was a chubby kid) but I'm the heaviest now that I've ever been and I have got to do something about it.
I just found this board last night (I had been to 3fatchicks website before but had never visited the forums) and today I decided to join, thinking maybe I could find someone here who is in the same boat as me (like needing to lose about that same amount of weight), and maybe find some support here as well, and tips and recipes. One thing I do know is that I can not do this alone. My husband is dieting with me because he has Type II diabetes. We are trying to do the G.I. Diet (anyone else doing that one?) because one of my friends has had great results with it.
So, if you'll have me, I'd like to participate in these forums. Looks like a good group of people. I hope all of you are successful on your weight loss journeys.
