I'm new here and wanted to say hello.
I'm dieting on my own and counting calories. I'm on a slow track (haven't found a fast one yet) and have a long way to go.
I will be 40 in three years so my goal is to be "fit" by 40. (You notice I didn't say thin.) My other goal is to reduce/prevent my inherited family risk of heart disease, diabetes, etc.
I joined a gym last year, and while I lost inches, I lost no pounds. In fact, today I weigh about 10 pounds more than when I started (even though I now have "muscle").
My goals are slow and steady because... this time...

I'M GOING TO DO IT!!!!
No more screwing around.
