  • I'm just the curious sort and wondered how everyone knew/found out about there being a 300+ area at 3FCs. We've only been indexed on the main page for a month or maybe 6 weeks and I was trying to figure out if that's what has brought us so many wonderful new people.
  • I literally fell into it. I was poking around checking out the threads. And accidently hit support groups instead of another post. When it loaded I realized my mistake but then I saw "300+ and ready to try again" and I was like holy cow thats me!!. Then the next day I couldn't figure out how I got there (I finally found it). But now it is great that they have it has a subforum. It is much easier to get to. Plus this group is to great to have hidden!!
  • Our friend Jiffypop told me about it.
  • I found this site when roaming thru and reading other threads.

But in this one I found a great group of ladies to talk too. This is
the first time that I've ever joined in a Forum of any kind. I'm
so glad that I found you ladies.
    (now where's my pay)
  • I was posting on a now defunct thread on the 3FC WW boards and Terri , I think, but it might have been Thin (Duh, my memory is failing me again. ) told me about this one.
  • Actually - my vote was wrong - I did not see it subtitled on the main forum page. I first saw it on the 3FC home page, where they have "recent topics" (or something similar) in a blue box in the middle of the page. Sorry for the confusion -Ruby
  • I found this thread because two friends from the WW 100 thread abandoned me.

I started posting on that thread back in August of 2000. We had such a nice group of ladies, including Thin and J-Ann, but the thread dwindled down to me. I would lurk from time to time here after Thin made this her home and then J-Ann. I finally gave up on the other thread and drifted here.

I marked that I've been here forever 'cause I feel that I have even though its been about two years here.
  • About 4 years ago I was at work surfing through the site and stumbled upon this group and felt so compelled to join the women posting at the time because they were so warm and friendly and non-judgemental! I'll never leave!!
  • I was told about 3FC from a friend who had her own little group going called "Thru Thick and Thin". She absolutely loved it here. She knew I was struggling and felt hopeless .... and wanted to encourage me to come join. I stayed away for almost a year before coming here. Finally, I came and lurked for about a month. I never posted ... only read. I was mainly hunting for her. I did not know her user's name. I eventually posted here and there. No single group. In the process... I found HOPE here.

I found threads with the theme about needing to lose 100lbs or more. That was a good feeling. Although people needing to lose 50-100 lbs has great ideas to share... (and I hope to be one of them someday) ... I did not feel connected to them as a newcomer.
I needed to lose 200lbs and I probably felt inadequate compared to them. I don't know.??
I did know ... I wished they had a thread for those of us needing to lose a LOT more than 100lbs.

Then one day ...I decided I wanted to start a group for women who were like me ... weighing 300+lbs. I started a new thread with this theme. I don't remember exactly what I called it... but I included the words "300+" because I wanted it for those of us who had MORE than a hundred pounds to lose.

ON THE SAME DAY another person started a similar thread.
I "think" it was called "Who's ready to try again with me" or something like that.
    She too was 300+ lbs.

I am usually a person who likes to be "in control" ... but I decided to "change my norm" and go join her group instead of going forward with mine. I was there from day one. We decided as a group to call ourselves "300+ and Ready to Try Again"

Guess that is more than you asked for Thin... but you know me. ... sometimes I just start talking and don't know when to shut up.
  • i found this thread after another old thread fizzled..it was called "thin angels...just the beginning..."...and gradually everyone stopped posting there, and pretty much everyone at thin angels also posted in the 300+ thread...
  • I remember Thin Angels..... That's where you and I met. Actually I was already here and was doing Thin Angels as an extra. Wonder what happened to that chick from California that always was so witty? Anyway, glad you're back over here, Mel.
  • I just happened about you lovelies while browsing through the forums trying to find one that fit me!
  • Thin: which chick? the one who always went rollarblading? Her name was like Raeblackstripes or something, and we called her Rae. Or the other one? Kristy or something? She was in college I think. Yeah the thread fizzled and then I made it over here. I met you and Mary there.
  • Yeah, Mel, Rae is the one I meant. She always used to post a neat quip or joke or tongue in cheek things all the time. I wonder what happened to her.
