Default points

hey,
I am new here and was wondering if anyone else has the same amount of points of 18-23. Maybe we could buddy up and exchange meal ideas? I need to lose 10 pounds! Hope to hear from someone.

W/W no longer has ranges and has deemed based on new research that 18 points a day is way too low. The lowest W/W goes now is 20 points a day for a minimum. From there you can earn and use ActivityPoints at your option but now it is only on the day you earn them that they can be used. Then you basically get what you could bank for the week up front from your ranges in what is called FlexPoints or WeeklyPointsAllowance in the amount of 35 (5 points in the range x 7 days = 35). You now can split these up and make a range for yourself (what I do is 5 a day and if I don't use them that day I roll them to the next day) but they expire at the end of your week.

There are many 'journal' threads in this W/W section so you may want to check those.

Thanks for your input...

So if 18-23 was low, now the points range for people who weigh less than 150 is 20-? Does WW suggest that each day you vary the points from low to high? Also if I signed up to attend a WW meeting, I would pay the regristration fee and the first week-do i get all the materials then? Could I stop paying after that?

Thanks
Danielle

W/W has always suggest you vary your poitns to keep your metabolism guessing.

The minimum a day for those under 150 is 20. You get 35 FPs to use as you wish (divide them up or use them all at once or use none of them).

You would get all the week 1 information which like alwyas is the basics.

I have the same points as you. So the points are 20-24 now? Is that right? I don't go to the meetings.

For weights under 150 the lowest is 20 points a day + 35 WeeklyPointsAllowance (aka FlexPoints aka BankedPoints under the programs where there were ranges). Each 25 pounds it goes up by 2 for the lowest points for the day.

Yes you can have lower and higher point days by incorporating your 35 flexpoints into your minimum daily point target.

You can choose to use all of your flexpoints per week or some or none. You can't carry them over from week to week though. So once the week is up and you start your new week you get only the 35 flexpoints and your minimum points per day.

Some people use the 35 flex points in 2-4 points per day on top of their mininimum and some people save the points for a special meal or for the weekend when they know they will be going out to dinner or to and event where they will need them. It is entirely up to you but you do have to track them.

When you join WW you get the Welcome book and some materials but you don't get everything at once. Each week you get a new booklet with different materials.

You can also purchase the Foodpoints book and the Eating out points book at the meetings which are really helpful and that I use all the time. I think they are $5.00 to $10.00 depending on where you are located (they seem to be pricier in Canada) but I found them to be worth it for menu planning and being able to make better choices when eating out.

I also have quite a few of the cookbooks which I totally love and use on a weekly basis
