Talking Decent meal replacement drink?

Is there even such a thing? Here is my delima... starting next week I will be working until 6 on Tue, wed, thurs. On those days I will be going to Jazzercise at 7 or 7:15 and getting home 8:00-8:15. I dont want to come home and eat a regular dinner because I have to get back out to exercise nor do I want to eat dinner at 8 so I was wondering if there was a decent meal replacement drink or bar or drink or something I could have while I am at work so I can drink it and it wont bother me by the time I work out. This will only be 3 days a week and last until April 15 (tax day- I work for accountants) then I will go back to my normal schedule leaving at 5 and then working out and eating (a normal meal) at 7. Someone mentioned slimfast, but they have quite a bit of sugar in them.

I try to do a jazzercise class 5 times a week and they are 1 hour long. They are awesome!

Anyway, I welcome any suggestions you may have!

If I were in your shoes I would have a snack before exercise then a real meal after. You need fuel to work out, but you don't want a full stomach and you also need to REPLENISH yourself after exercise. Muscles can't repair and grow and strengthen if you don't feed yourself soon after a workout. Body builders always make sure they've eaten something with healthy carbohydrates before a workout, and something protein-heavy after.

So ... I agree that slimfast and the like are WAY too sugary to be considered healthy. You might think about having something like yogurt & fruit before your workout, then some protein and vegetables after. I think your body would respond better to that and you'll have better results from the exercise than if you try to just starve yourself afterwards. If you really want a drink, you might look at a smoothie before (milk and fruit) and food after or food before and smoothie after (milk & protein powder & maybe fruit). Just make sure you're getting enough vegetables during the day. Oh, and I DO use the EAS AdvantEdge 100-calorie protein drinks after workouts sometimes if it's going to be a while before I can get to dinner and I can't make my own smoothie.

Thanks funniegirl for being the 1 person out of 45 people that read this who actually responded! I just picked up some dannon light n fit smoothies from Wegmans for before my work out and I will probably have a salad with tuna or something after my workouts. Thanks for the advice!
